It is truly a wonderful experience, but at the same time a truly "educational one"! Our tour director, was exceptional not wasting a moment of any day, pointing out the very significant points of interests, at the same time, taking every part of this significant history in a chronological order.
The accomodations and service, both on the boat and in the hotel were five start plus, since we live in the Palm Beaches and use to up-scale adventure, made the "Breakers", look like an outhouse.....need I say more!
The value vs the price were evenly matched.
As for shopping, once again, significant shops were selected to include, spice, perfumes, and of course jewelry. At the same time educationing you on their wares and how they are used.
Like INSIGHT always does, is taking you inside the home of a residemt and demonstrates their current life style and habits, only in this example, demonstrated how bread was made not only for their family, but the entire neighborhood.

This itinerary was a great way to see all the highlights Egypt has to offer. Along with a fantastic Tour Director this is the perfect trip for anyone interested in the history. Part of the itinerary was a cruise on the Nile. The ship and crew were fantastic and it was easily one of my favorite parts. With daily stops and chances to bond with other Travellers it was so much fun.
This Trafalgar tour includes both ancient history and current day industry. It was very interesting to see how they make different items today in Egypt.
The food provided with the itinerary was great, options for everyone.

Excellent trip overall. Itinerary was full on, varied and interesting. Some days were perhaps too full and one visit could have been better the day after ( say). Mohamed or guide was excellent. His explanations were VERY detailed and perhaps more of an overview would suffice for those of us who were not keen Egyptologists! He looked after us very well though. The Old Cataract Hotel is a must but we organised that ourselves.

This was one of the most incredible trips I've ever been on. *personal info removed by Feefo* was a fabulous tour manager and made the trip so entertaining and informative. It was very fast paced and I had not much sleep but it was worth it for all of the wonderful sites we saw and experiences we had. The luxury cruise boat was a highlight with all of its amenities, as were all of the temples we visited. Included meals were fine but we bought snacks to make up for any food we didn't like. Our group was a large one but pretty much everyone got on well together and had a blast. I would have loved an extra day in Hurghada to explore the town as we arrived at night and left at 7.30am so didn't get time to explore. Perhaps if the first day didn't start at 7pm (as Day 1 doesn't really count as a day since it's just a registration meeting) and was an afternoon of exploring Cairo that might have made room for more time somewhere else at the other end. Definitely take imodium tablets with you as over half of the group got sick throughout the week. Overall the whole week was amazing. I've made some friends for life and was so sad to leave at the end.

The first two days of the itinerary involves seeing the most popular sights in Luxor, including the temple complex of Karnak, Valley of the Kings and the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. Also included is a visit to the Luxor Museum, home to a rich collection of artwork dedicated to pharaohs.
However, this tour brings you face to face with not so well-known but equally impressive sights in the city, like the temples of Hathor and Abydos. This is the best company in Egypt for tours and day trips. We visited with them (separate day trips) Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor. In Cairo, we took the long day trip on their website (visit of Giza and entrance into the Great Pyramid (inside), quad ride, Dahshur and Saqqarah pyramids, Memphis and a felucca ride. We even stopped at the papyrus museum and a parfumerie. Ahmed, our guide, was the most interesting and competent guide we ever had (and we travel a lot). In Alexandria, we had an amazing day trip (picked up from Cairo), we visited the catacombs, a mosque, the library, etc. Amazing day trip! And finally, in Luxor, we visited the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, Memnon colossus, Hatchepsout temple and Karnak temple, all in one day. The food at the Paris restaurant was amazing, but the best and most amazing part was our guide, Omar Ahmed, who was incredible. Amazing experience!
