Upscale 4-5 star hotels and lodges. Enjoy high-end service, refined comfort, and premium locations — ideal for travelers seeking extra indulgence.
The bus transportation was very good. They clean, on time and driven very well. The majority of passengers were seniors that may require more frequent restroom stops on trips that take longer than an hour. Consideration should be taken by the guides when older people are part of the tour. Guides are understandably under time constraints but should not walk so fast that seniors can not keep up without holding up the entire group. You should inform participants when theres many stairs or the requirement of walking more than 10-15 minutes to a visit site. Parking the buses as close to attractions would make things easier for everyone. Spanish translation seemed to have a priority over English. Its obvious that your company is based in Spain, but it might be appropriate to ask while booking what is your primary language and schedule tours groups accordingly. Dietary restrictions of some tour members caused delays and complications with meals. These should be communicated with the guides so they can make appropriate arrangements. Hotel accommodations on the whole were fine but several times we had the surprise of twin beds For a couple married 52 years this was a surprise. Several of the hotel stays were very nice but others were very small with few amenities. The last hotel in Hiroshima Candeo was a disappointment. Entering the hotel through the backdoor garbage area was not pleasant. There was confusion and miscommunication about where the lobby meeting place for dinner was and we missed our dinner we paid for. Please reconsider using the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and the Candeo hotel chains. The rooms at each location were very small and cramped. Their locations may be ideal but service etc. for guests were limited. No concierge,no assistance with luggage, limited English speaking staff made staying there difficult.
Very informative and fast paced. I believe following the tour we had a much better understanding of the Japanese including some of their customs and their way of life. Having an excellent tour guide like we had made the entire tour worthwhile.

Tour guides were very punctual. The Geisha tour was not too clear as how the passengers were going to return to hotel. The Holiday Inn gave us 3 rooms in different floors which made it difficult to have access to each other since room keys are accessible only to designated floor.

My wife and I had an incredible time on our Backroads of Japan tour. This was our first ever international trip, and even with booking a tour, we weren't sure what to expect. Fortunately, our tour guide was simply phenomenal. He was perfectly fluent in Japanese and English, knowledgeable in every facet of the country (down to the geology!), attentive to the needs of our very diverse group, and knew every nook and rest stop along every trail we hiked. Overall, I made friends and many more memories through this unforgettable itinerary, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to experience Japan for the first time.
