I knew from the description that it would be a fast paced trip and that we would sleep in a different place each night and that’s exactly what I wanted = an overview so I could see whether I wanted to go back anywhere. If you’re like me, who enjoys going out for dinner and drinks each night, you would be very tired at the end of trip. However, many chose to stay in and go to bed and I believe for them the trip was not tiring, even for the older ones. Morning starts are reasonable - we left at 8am each day. Simon was a fabulous tour guide and the local guides were all wonderful. Do take small euro bills = you definitely need them. (also take coins for toilet stops). Definitely have a revolut, or similar, card. The optional activities, whilst nice,, are highly, highly over-priced, shame on the travel specialist! One thing I missed, was more. recommendations to authentic local food with local prices. All in all, a fabulous trip and I’m so glad I did it. I will use this agency again for their professionalism.

Evia is an amazing island, very green and lush and the walking was varied. I was pleased by the amount of history and local knowledge imparted by the guides. The butterflies, flowers, tortoises and slow worms interested me a lot. The hotel provided a very comfortable base with the sea, tavernas and sea front giving evening entertainment. Very organized. The time was well used to see major sites and to get a feel for the history and daily life. The tour was responsive to our request to include some outdoor, active activities in addition to sightseeing. The local guide was very good, knowledgeable and genial. Importantly, he was a good driver. The hotels were well selected, except for the one in Cluj which was a bit out of the center.

I compared multiple small group tours and, for the equivalent price, Explore is much better value. The hotels are better, the entry fees (which can really add up!) are all included, private comfortable minibus (no public transport) the entire trip, free airport shuttle if arriving or departing on the day the tour starts/ends. As advertised, the itinerary was jam packed and rated "full on" : that suited me, as I wanted to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. It is recommended that you book a few days on your own in Istanbul, as there's a lot to see. The hotels were comfortable and centrally located with a couple of fancy ones included. Breakfast was substantial in all hotels.. enough to keep you fueled for most of the day. My only minor complaint is the guide often suggested expensive tourist restaurants. I found cheaper, tastier and more authentic eateries on my own by doing prior research. One thing I really did like about this tour is that there were no forced shopping stops which are so prevalent with other tour companies. I would definitely consider Explore! Worldwide in the future!
