Our family had a great 15-day customized China tour experience with this tour company! We, a family of three from New Zealand, enjoyed a trip to China in October this year. We have been preparing for this trip for 2 years. Before finding this tour operator, we also inquired with some local travel companies in New Zealand and China. After comparing, we found that the itineraries offered by New Zealand companies were relatively limited, and they required a minimum of 16 people to form a group. This 10 Days River Rafting Tour starts and ends in Kathmandu. For a detailed itinerary we kindly refer to the Itinerary tab. All rafting will take place in SunKoshi (the river of gold), one of Nepal's best rivers for river rafting. Day 1 and Day 10 will be spent on transport to/from Kathmandu, and the other 8 days will be spent river rafting, enjoying nature, playing games, camping at night - or in short, having a blast!
Running the gigantic waves and the intense yet predictable rapids of the crystal clear Sunkoshi river gives you more than just an adrenaline rush; it makes you feel something which can’t be simply expressed with words, and hence, you gotta try it!
The starting point of the 270 kilometers long river adventure is Dolalghat or Roshi Khola (Nepalthok), which is a 3-hour drive from Kathmandu valley, and the take out point, or end point at Day 10, is Chatara, which is a 16-hour drive from Kathmandu.
From straightforward waves to powerful and intense ones, the rapid of the river changes from class 3 to class 4 as you move further down the river. We will therefore start with easy rapids and slowly get you on top of how to handle bigger rapids.
The best seasons to gain a thrilling and a safe experience of rafting in Sunkoshi is from September to November and May to June. However, please note that Sunkoshi doesn’t just give you a thrilling rafting experience but also gives you a chance to witness Nepal's fascinating nature close up. Witness the stunning "blue flame" at Ijen Crater on this overnight hiking adventure to Mount Ijenin East Java!
Start your tour to Mount Ijen with pickup in the late afternoon from Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Jimbaran or Nusa Dua. Departing from your accommodation, you'll be transferred to Gilimanuk Harbor in West Bali, crossing the sea on a 30-minute ferry ride and arriving in East Java around midnight. You will be driven directly to the starting point of your guided mountain trek, where you'll receive a safety briefing and equipment including a flashlight and gas mask. The 3km route to the summit takes roughly 1 to 2 hours over a combination of uphill and flat terrain.
En route, interact with the sulfur miners who tirelessly carry blocks of yellow sulphur weighing 132-176 pounds (60-80 kg) via bamboo pole baskets across their shoulders. Later, witness their mining activity by traditional methods using iron rods without safety equipment.
On arrival at the summit before dawn, glimpse the natural phenomenon of Mount Ijen's blue fire (depending on weather conditions). Stop for a light breakfast on the mountaintop before you're guided back down for a closer look and some fantastic photo ops of Ijen Crater, Java's largest acid lake, from the viewpoint. After a 1-hour descent, you'll be transferred to Banyuwangi Harbor for the late morning ferry back to Bali.
Arriving around noon, your journey ends with lunch at a local restaurant before drop-off at your hotel in the late afternoon.
