This short safari tour is one of our most popular programs. It will impress fans of wild animals, with likely sightings of lions, rhinos, wildebeests, hippos, and more. Travelers will also enjoy the most beautiful landscapes, including Ngorongoro Crater, which is like no other place on our planet. Tarangire National Park is usually called "Small Serengeti", and it perfectly complements this program.
Although this tour just takes a couple of days, it is likely to be a visit you remember for much much longer.

A perfect mix of wildlife and relaxation, this tour combines the amazing wildlife of the Serengeti National Park with the relaxing tropical paradise that is Zanzibar Island, and offers a great introduction to Tanzania. This is an overland tour, travelling in a fully equipped comfortable expedition truck, combined with 4x4 safari vehicles and a minibus on Zanzibar.
Arriving in Nairobi we head south across the border to Arusha, gateway to the wildlife heart of Tanzania. From here we head into the Serengeti National Park, making stops at the Ngorongoro crater, home to an unrivalled density of wildlife, and then the Seronera region of the park.
After our wildlife experience we head towards Zanzibar and the coast. We spend the last three days of our tour relaxing on the tropical paradise that is Zanzibar Island. There is plenty to do including the historic World Heritage Site of Stone Town, bustling markets, spice tours, swimming, snorkelling or just a bit of sunbathing. The trip comes to an end in Stone Town, Zanzibar.
The tour is available either based mainly on camping in traditional 2-person tents (which we provide together with camp beds), or as an upgraded 'accommodated' version where you sleep in lodges, hotels, or permanent camps (with proper beds & facilities). Drive through the Rift Valley to visit Lake Nakuru, where you can see cape buffalos, black and white rhinos, and endangered Rothschild Giraffes roaming around in their natural habitats. Explore Amboseli National Park, where over one thousand elephants will come to life before you cross the border into Tanzania to explore the beautiful plains and exotic plantations of Tarangire National Park. Later visit Lake Manyara National Park. This is an excellent place to see exotic species of birds or flocks of pink flamingos. Head on a game drive through Serengeti National Park, a magical wildlife haven, and an excellent place to search for the Big Five. Visit the Ngorongoro Crater to see the fascinating species of wildlife in the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. From there you will make your way back to Arusha, where your safari tour of East Africa will come to an end!
