The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five. However, as one of the world's most astonishing and renowned natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater does get busy, and at times very busy. Due to the crowds we recommend a two-night stay only here, then moving on to the Serengeti for a quieter, more private safari experience.
The crater and surrounding highlands together form one of Africa's most beautiful regions. Volcanic craters form stunning backdrops to some of the most fertile and richest grazing grounds in Africa. The view from top was stunning and the game drive within the crater area was breathtaking. One of the highlights is for sure the black rhinos, and we saw in total eight, although from certain distance. Amazing experience!
Everything was perfect for this safari, the organization, the guide, the parks, the accommodations. This was an amazing trip. I can't believe how many animals we saw. I honestly did not expect to see every animal that I had on my list and we also saw so many of them and multiple times. I'm still in awe of how much wildlife we saw. It was surreal being there and on an actual safari. We also had a great guide in Arusha who took us on a tour of a village, a coffee plantation, and to the Maasai market, which was quite an experience. I also really enjoyed the spice planation tour on Zanzibar and of course, the beach!
