East Africa Walking Tour Reviews

An interesting and varied itinerary (didn't feel Korce had much to offer however). Enjoyed the variety of locations, ably escorted by our excellent guide Gerion and skilful driver Fahti (who had to drive through dense fog in the mountains!). I thought the choice of accommodation was good and we were conveniently located in all locations.
Guide Beni very good - thoughtful, knowledgeable of both terrain and plants. Victor, bus driver also fab with a generous sense of humour. Hotels good with out of the way Garden Ocean worthy of it's 4star rating. Restaurants good and although almost London prices, both dinners in Funchal (Gruta and Cota Cruz &Abreu) exceptional. Madeira
Majorca Hike: Sierras & Monasteries - lived up to all the pictures! Accommodation was as described (Valldemossa was a highlight) and the walks were all fantastic. A highlight was fresh orange juice on the walk to Deia. Having walk options meant you could manage indifferent weather (which was rare). Our second U Tracks and we are already planning another one.
This was my fourth trip with Explore Worldwide, but my first walking tour. I wanted to see whether I’d actually enjoy a walking holiday, as I love walking but had never done it consistently day after day. Needless to say, I absolutely loved it — and I’m already browsing trips for next year! I went back and forth about booking the agriturismo or the hotel, and I’m so glad I chose the agriturismo. It was such a lovely place to stay. The food was amazing, I loved relaxing on the sun terrace, and although the rooms were simple, they were perfectly adequate. My only small niggle was that the beds were a little firm — but after a day’s walking, you’ll still sleep very well! The walks were a bit more challenging than I expected. At first, I thought they might not be enough, especially as the first couple are under three miles, but they involve a lot of uphill and downhill sections. There are plenty of stairs on this trip! In the end, though, it worked perfectly, because by the time you reach the two bigger walks towards the end, your legs have adapted. And what walks they are — the scenery is absolutely stunning. At times it’s hard to watch where you’re putting your feet because the coastline is so breathtaking! There are also opportunities to swim at the end of three of the walks, which is definitely worth taking advantage of. And what’s a tour without a good guide? We were lucky to have Gennaro, who kept everything running smoothly and made sure the whole group stayed on track throughout the trip. The experience was topped off by a fantastic group of people — I honestly couldn’t have asked for better company. So yes, I’d absolutely recommend this trip. I can completely see why it’s a bestseller!
We had a very enjoyable holiday. Our leader Juan Jose was excellent, very knowledgeable and pleasant. He and his family run the small hotel in Sotres, where we were based. It's pretty basic but quite adequate and very friendly. The group was very sociable and everyone enjoyed the 'craic' in the evening. One minor criticism:- I think the grading of the walk is a bit misleading and would grade it higher than moderate, mainly as the hikes were quite long and at times the ascents were prolonged. In summary:- a great holiday.
Absolutely fabulous holiday trekking in Turkey. I’d been to Turkey many times before but never seen it like this. Wonderful guide with expert knowledge, delicious food and drinks and so much wildlife! Butterflies, tortoises, birds, fish, flowers and such amazing scenery, breathtaking Mountain views. Excellent exercise, came home healthier and with increased skills. And memories!
