Reviews of our Tbilisi Tours for September

Highly recommended. Lots of experiences in addition to eating a lot of food and drinking a lot of wine! Learning about the traditional wine making was very interesting and eating traditional home cooked food was exceptional. The hotels were all good and the coach was very comfortable. Maryam, our tour leader, was a delight.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. First, our leader, Miriam, was fantastic. She made everyone feel welcome and included. And, her knowledge and love of her country was very visible and contagious. The activities were varied and the pace truly was full-on. We got to pack in a lot that allowed us to see and feel so much while at the same time feeling like vacation.
The Georgian scenery is incredible and just like a postcard. The hospitality at the guest houses along the trail is second to none and the comradery along the trail adds a bit of fun as you pass the same groups of people each day on the trail when you stop for breaks or to admire the view.
Alpine meadows, glaciers, stunning mountain ranges and simple lodgings in remote villages - what a fantastic hiking experience. This trip was a great combination of hiking and visiting cultural highlights of this ancient civilisation. Georgia is being discovered but thankfully still requires effort to get there and to walk to discover its great beauty. Food was superb at every lodging and a real highlight of visiting this country on the cross roads of Asia and Europe. All the accommodation was comfortable and welcoming. Tbilisi is a bustling, cosmopolitan city well worth exploring pre or post trek. This trip combines the best of this country and the local guides and drivers were attentive and helpful to everyone in the group.
It's a fascinating trip with a very nice guide but for me personally too much driving and too much packed in, with not enough time in the many stops. For instance, we got to Stalin's birthplace, but the timing meant we couldn't go to the museum to him. We weren't lucky with the weather, and the Kazbegi hotel was a low point, but the cookery classes and meals that followed the hands-on demonstrations were just fabulous. Incidentally the Tbilisi hotel had just one coffee machine for a huge number of people at breakfast, so very long queues and stress for groups that had to leave on time!
Miriam was great and very accommodating. We certainly enjoyed having her with us. The tour was very interesting - a lot of churches though to see. We would have like to have spend more time in the Caucasus region - maybe another time.
