Syracuse Tours in October 2025

Antonio has been leading tours around Sicily for 30 years and knows his way around. In his hands, we were fast tracked to all the sites, avoiding the long queues that were very apparent at popular destinations. Something I think that we all took for granted. Over the years, he has determined the pace that will best suit. A considerable art. We were never rushed. He was always good humoured and incredibly knowledgeable. The trip gives a very good overview of the entire island. For me, perhaps too much of an emphasis on the Greek and Roman. Free time made it possible to catch up on the Norman and Baroque. Not to mention the Puppets. I had a good time with a very congenial group of like minded travellers. Hotels weren't great but were adequate. Some could have been better located.

We had an excellent tour leader who did her very best to ensure that we got to the locations at the best times. She dealt with everything with good humour and really made the trip for us. We came away with a thirst for more information - the local guides showed great knowledge and enthusiasm for their history.

This Ancient Sicily trip was really enjoyable and extremely interesting. The itinerary was excellent and Antonio (our tour guide) was outstanding in his knowledge of the Island on many levels from ancient times to present day. There is so much to this beautiful island and I would highly recommend this trip!!

Everything went well. Excellent guide, good companions, interesting places (If you like churches and temples), well balanced, everyday something new. No "free time for you to relax by pool" excuses for having nothing much to see. Really good.

10 out of 10. Davide Di Mauro leads the cycling (from local tour guide company CicloFree) and works really hard to ensure the cycle tour is well organised and great fun. Giuseppe (van back up driver) provided solid back up support all day long with water and any other assistance always available if required. Accommodation all of a good standard. Cycling pitched at the right level without being overly strenuous. Davide ensures that all routes are safe and relatively low traffic routes. Davide puts lots of effort into selecting / suggesting places to eat. All of which were of outstanding quality but not necessarily expensive. I will remember the tour almost as much for culinary highlights as well as for cycling highlights. The cycling was excellent with the bikes being of high quality and very well maintained. Most of all however is the knowledge and enthusiasm that Davide has for Sicilian culture and nature. It was a huge pleasure to be part of a cycle tour led by Davide. Davide made sure the tour was fun from start to finish with his great sense of humour.

Country is beautiful with so much history. Great for historical buffs and scenery lovers. Everyday was different with scenery and great variety of hills. Going through farmlands and cycling along the waterfronts.
