Reviews of our Sorrento Tours for September
Feedback from guests whose tour started in/around Sorrento during September.
This was a great trip. The leader, Manny (Mahnai), was excellent. The accommodations, while not high-end, were certainly adequate, especially considering you will be spending very little time at the hotel. The places we visited were all beautiful and the food was amazing. The highlight was probably the private boat tour to Capri. One thing to be aware of: there is a lot of walking involved, at least on a few days of the trip. Nothing too physically taxing, but you will put in some kilometers on certain days.
Met my ecpectations. Tour Leader, John, was amazing. Affordable price and pace was just right for my age, (67 yrs old). Dinners were excellent; hotels were adequate; bus driver was very pleasant and always smiling; Please read my comments and suggestions on the survey we had to fill out after the tour. I placed my email address on it for your feedback.
Great comprehensive ,friendly and medium paced trip. Hotels are out of the main towns and once the tour bus drops you off you travel by bus or train into the main areas. They are only a short ride away and our tour guide Caroline gave us directions for getting back to the hotel either by ourselves if we chose to stay in town longer or you could travel back with her after the tour. Free time is available in most places as well as optional tours. The pick of these for me was The Amalfi Coast and Isle of Capri. I got to fit the Blue Grotto on the island into my free time on Capri so that was an unexpected bonus. The tour covers basically everything you'd want to see in Italy for a first time trip.I seen everything that i ever dreamed of and Cinque Terre was a dream come true. As with all travel its packed at most venues and for me the Cinque Terre was too crowded but well worth it. The trains were a bit of a nightmare but the villages were spectacular I visited all 5 with Cornilgia my least favourite but Manarola a stand out.Overall Italy was spectacular, highly commercial but a must do tour. Highly recommend.
I thought this tour was good value for money. It was an active tour with lots of walking (and I mean a lot of walking!!) but also had plenty of spare time in each place to check it out. We covered a lot of ground and saw some amazing sights (most memorable being Venice by night, Amalfi Coast and Tuscany). It was certainly a well organised trip. A couple of the hotels were a bit ordinary but others were lovely (variety of 3 and 4 star). Breakfasts were a bit basic (only continental breakfast) and the included meals were a bit hit and miss. We always stayed close to restaurants and shops and the local food was fantastic. Tip for future travellers is take an umbrella and use it for shade in the hot sun (especially in Pompeii where there is no shade anywhere). We had a great group on the bus which made the holiday more fun. Overall a great trip and I would travel with expat again.
HI Team, Had a great holiday in Italy, however was a little disappointed in some of the accommodations, mainly there was no mini fridges in 2 of the hotels i think this should be mandatory in every room considering the heat we had across Italy its was 30 + Celsius every day. Thank you
