I have about five favorite experiences: I loved Spoletto, Assisi , Fra Angelico exhibition and Florence Cathedral where Michelangelo was buried; plus the colorful farmhouse folks who took us truffle hunting and the lady who made pasta in the farmhouse - such wonderful folks - I loved that whole day in their farmhouse. Accommodations were excellent especially Villa near Florence; ten perfect days for my first trip to Italy. Collette gets an A for careful planning in making arrangements, Our Guide Dario Panniello an A+

Our tour director and bus driver were excellent all along the way. And the local experts were very good, particulary at the Vatican Museum and in Milan. Also at Pompeii was very good. The hotels and food were very good along the way and we covered a lot of ground (over 3,300km) and excellent tours and sights. Some good optional tours and food in Sorrento, and to Como and Lugano. Very nice to get the perspective of all along the way. Many interesting details and stories provided on the long driving sections. Everything was well-organized and on-time. The group on the coach were also good people.

It is a rigorous itinerary and should be explained as such for older travelers!! It should be made known that Italy, while beautiful, is steep, rugged walking and filled with stairs to climb everywhere! The food provided on the tour was good but it really wasn’t Italy’s best!! When eating on our own we were able to sample some truly good Italian pizza and pasta. The tour should be leaving guests with a better experience of Italian eating!

My trip to Italy with Contiki was truly wonderful. Everything felt thoughtful and seamless, which allowed me to relax and simply enjoy the experience. Our guides were genuine, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable—they brought each place to life with stories and insights I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. From the beautiful cities to the incredible food, every day felt special. I’m really grateful for how well everything was organized, and I highly recommend Contiki!

The Sicily and Southern Italy tour was everything we'd hoped it would be. Beautiful scenery, amazing antiquities, friendly people, and amazing food. It will take awhile to digest all that we saw and experienced, with an wonderful group of folks. Collette Travel arranged the trip with Travel Junction in Ambridge coordinating. Great service with top notch travel managers and local guides. Unbelievable beauty! Laura, our tour manager went above and beyond to make sure my husband had dairy free meals.

This and all other travels in the past have been great experiences with Trafalgar for me. Trafalgar is the best hassle free travel. Everything is planned for you, great hotels, meals and places to see.
