Reviews of our Rapid City Tours for September
Feedback from guests whose tour started in/around Rapid City during September.
The hotel was brand new and I had no maid service for 4 days until I complained to the manager. The breakfast buffet was nearly empty the first morning including no coffee or hot water in any urns. The pillows were overstuffed and no alternatives were available. The tour itself was outstanding and the tour director was exceptional. My favorite experience, three actually, was speaking opportunities with Native Americans (especially at Tatiana), seeing wild bison herds in Custer State Park and visiting Mount Rushmore at night for the closing ceremony. I was disappointed that we didn’t see the Little Big Horn massacre site in Montana. I thought that would be included. I wish you offered a Spotlight tour in Berlin, which is also on my bucket list.
The best part of the trip was when we were traveling along the highway and we came upon 3 cowboys moving their cattle. I was told that isn’t done that much anymore. That 4 wheelers are usually used today. Kevin and Josh were really great and very thoughtful of everyone and made sure my trip was unforgettable. I would travel with them again.
The Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City and The Lodge at Jackson Hole were excellent. The Hampton in Buffalo and Holiday Inn in Cody were OK for one night. Our bus driver Josh and tour guide Kevin were excellent. There were plenty of rest stops. Loved the Crazy Horse Memorial and was glad the group picture was taken there, especially since our bus was allowed to go further back. Also enjoyed the chuck wagon dinner.
My group had such a great experience on the American Cowboy Country trip. Amber and Ron were amazing and they worked so well together to make our trip memorable and fun. If I would recommend anything, it would be to somehow allow another day for Yellowstone. We did see some great things there, but there was so much we weren’t able to explore because of time constraints. Otherwise, no complaints from me!
It was the trip of a lifetime. We got to see so much of the area of the country in 7 days. However, it would have been nice to spend more time at Mount Rushmore and Old Faithful. However, all was well and excellent.
This was jam packed with sightseeing! Wonders everywhere! Tour guide was full of information and facts about the places we visited. He also was, fully prepared with some soundtracks and movies in prepation for site visits. The coach driver "" and were an incredible team, curteous, professional and fun to be with.
