Puerto Varas Tour Reviews

We had an amazing time on our trip to Chile. Everything on our itinerary was planned perfectly and everyone was early to arrive and very friendly and happy to give recommendations. The W Trek experience was made so much easier and less stressful thanks to their careful planning. Would recommend to anyone looking to experience Patagonia without having to worry about missing out on booking any part of the trip.
We had a fantastic experience working with Florencia and Mery from the team! From the very beginning, they were true partners in helping us craft an itinerary that felt personalized and well-balanced. Communication throughout the planning process (and during the trip itself) was also excellent. They were always responsive and proactive, and we especially appreciated the valuable updates they provided while we were traveling. For example, when a transportation strike unexpectedly happened during our trip, they stepped in to help us navigate the situation and adjust our plans smoothly. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for thoughtful, well-supported travel planning!
The experience in Argentina and Chile set up for my wife and I was a wonderful experience. We spent 30 days traveling much of Patagonia along with Buenos Aries and Santiago. Where there were things we would do differently after the experience, on the whole the places we saw and the things we did more than made up for some logistical issues. Mostly the trip went flawlessly. All the guides, pick-ups, tours and travels came off without a hitch. The places we saw and things we did were mostly amazing. This was due to the work put in by the team. I would recommend them with the caveat that you walk through each detail with them to make sure it is what you want or expect. As I mentioned, if we did this again we would do some things differently. Good luck on your planning and happy travels.
I first rate end-to-end experience. The route, the variations in landscape and the demands made upon the cyclist were all thoughtfully considered. The accommodation used was all very good, very clean and occasionally excellent. Our lunch stops were all interesting as we dined in local restaurants run by families. We were blessed with good weather, a fine trio of guides and a lovely group. Our support vehicle loitered around us when we were on the move and miraculously would appear under the shade of a tree with a table full of goodies and drinks. The early stages are green and lush, but as the Andes are climbed and Argentina entered, the route turns north and the landscape becomes less Alpine and more ‘high plains drifter’ and finally near desert with glacial topped volcanoes and lava fields. The Monkey Puzzel forests ate the end a cool green and beautiful treat. Both countries are calm gentle places, the driving generally very calm and where the people are kind and courteous. The Mantupechu villages and tribal lands were fascinating.
Our cycling adventure through the Lake District of Chile and Argentina was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, it was a journey filled with breathtaking scenery, unique experiences, and unforgettable moments. First and foremost, a huge shoutout to our incredible guide, Ale, whose passion, expertise, and energy made the trip seamless and enjoyable. His knowledge of the region, combined with his enthusiasm for sharing it, elevated every aspect of the journey. The scenery was absolutely stunning—Patagonia at its finest. We cycled past shimmering lakes, towering snow-capped volcanoes, dense forests of monkey puzzle trees, and rolling gravel roads that offered both challenge and charm. Each day brought something new: crossing lakes by ferries, spotting tarantulas on the road, and soaking in the vast, untouched beauty of the region. The sense of discovery was unparalleled. Every turn revealed another postcard-perfect view, from tranquil lake shores to the rugged peaks of the Andes. The gravel roads and challenging terrain were made worthwhile by the jaw-dropping vistas and the camaraderie of fellow travelers. Sharing meals and stories with the group fostered a sense of community, making the trip as much about the people as the places. This journey through two countries was more than just a trip; it was a soul-enriching experience. It rekindled a deep appreciation for nature, adventure, and the simple joys of life. If you're looking to fall in love with the world again, this is the way to do it.
This trip was a great way to see the top highlights while leaving you wanting to explore more! Perfect 'Discovery' trip! There are a lot of flights and the airline can move around the timings so you have to be flexible and open to late nights/early starts. There really is no other way to cover so much distance in just 2 weeks. Its well worth the travel as you get to see 2 completely different sides of Chile, the Desert and Salt flats of the North and the Lakes and Mountains of the South, both equally beautiful but very different. The food wasn't as expensive as I thought, similar pricing to London restaurants so by no means cheap but not unaffordable and if you take some snacks with you its easy to skip lunches as dinner portions in every restaurant we went to are very generous. The hotels were clean, spacious and comfortable. The only pool in use (we were early in the season) was in San Pedro. Both optional excursions are well worth doing but I would recommend doing a little research into star constellations before going to help things make more sense as its a lot of information to take in. Our guide Miguel was very knowledgeable and clearly loves his country and the outdoors we were in good hands especially in the National parks as he knows the area well. He is also a keen photographer so we were going to great photo locations and he was always willing to stop the bus whenever wildlife or a good photo angle was spotted! There are long drives, but the scenery was so beautiful that the drives were just as special as the walks and plenty of stops to stretch our legs or take a photo or toilet stop.
