Merida Active and outdoor Trips

Luis Flores is a tremendous guide with lots of knowledge and great historical context but also a very pleasant character and cheerful personality. He took us to some wonderful local restaurants, and organised excellent optional activities. We loved the wide range of activities in the itinerary... Spectacular ruins but also cenotes, boat trips, church visits etc. The highlight was definitely the visit to the cemetery for Dia Des Muertos in Oaxaca. We have already recommended this trip to many friends and will continue to do so! Well done and thank you for adding these memories to our life.

An excellent opportunity to explore many of the archeological sites in Mexico, Guatemala and Belize under the guidance of our extremely knowledgeable and charismatic tour guide Ana. This is a ‘full on’ tour, with some very long drives, but well worth it. There is a fair amount of walking, as well as climbing at many of the sites, and a good level of fitness is needed, particularly in view of the hot, sunny and humid days that we experienced on many days. We booked our trip to coincide with ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations in Oaxaca, which was an amazing experience. Accommodation generally poor, and not to Explore’s normal standards. All in all, a great 3 week trip.

This is a varied and interesting tour with many unexpected cultural experiences. Ana Davila is an excellent tour leader who brings the archaeological sites, history and her culture to life. Mexico, Belize and Guatemala all have their own characters and it was interesting to see these differences. A fascinating and highly enjoyable tour.

Absolutely fabulous trip. Experienced so many different cultures and saw such a contrast of beautiful countries. Our guide Mayra made the trip so special, her knowledge was incredible and she shared her passion and enthusiasm about all the amazing archaeological sites that we Visted. It’s full on but you are so well guided and looked after that the pace was very manageable and enjoyable. Great tour , great group.

A great tour lead by an excellent tour leader. Every archaeological site was a high. Would have given 5 stars but for the unacceptable behaviour of one group member, which caused difficulties for the tour leader and upset other group members

Ana was a fantastic tour leader -very knowledgeable and attentive - great communication skills and excellent command of English- very experienced /prifeasional /competent fun and friendly. I can provide additional feedback about the group experience /difficult behaviour of one member of the group but don’t want it publishing .
