The Manaslu trek is one of Nepal's best treks. If you have 17 days available for trekking in Nepal, we highly recommend this trek. It is challenging, especially the day of crossing the Larke pass at 5,135 m but if you are in reasonable shape, determined, and able to walk 6 hours a day, you can do this trek. Manaslu is the eighth highest peak in the world, bordering the Gorkha and Manang districts in Nepal. It is just 64km East of the previously popular Annapurna treks. Literally, Manaslu is derived from Sanskrit with manasa means “Mountain of the spirit". The Manaslu region encompasses everything from sub tropical foothills to the arid Trans-Himalaya high pastures bordering Tibet. The Manaslu trek opened only in 1991. Its popularity increased significantly when teahouses become available around 2009. The Manaslu region has no roads or alike and the trekking trails are excellent. This combined with a high variation in altitude starting from around 700 m and getting up to 5,135 m is the reason why the Manaslu trek today is preferred over the Annapurna trek. After a 6 hours bus ride from Kathmandu, the trek begins Arughat. En-route the trek, you will not only see spectacular mountain scenery but can also visit several monasteries. If you have 19 days available, you will not regret choosing this trek. If you are in doubt as to physical fitness we highly recommend adding a porter. 1 porter can carry up to 30 kgs and can thus be shared between 2 people. One my best adventure in Nepal

I visited Manaslu region in March 2023 along with Glorious Himalaya’s guide and porter. It was an unforgettable adventure. The stunning Himalayan landscapes, remote villages, and diverse ecosystems left us in awe. The challenging terrain pushed our limits, but the sense of accomplishment was worth it. The cultural immersion with friendly locals added depth to the journey. Our guide was knowledgeable, ensuring our safety and providing insights into the region's history and culture. The teahouse accommodations and local cuisine were delightful. However, some sections of the trail were strenuous and required good physical fitness. Overall, the Manaslu Circuit Trek was a rewarding and humbling experience.

Amazing trek, amazing team

Had an amazing trek with Lion Tours and guide Binod. Any time I had an issue they had the solution. They also kept it adaptable to what I wanted to do each day. The trek is stunning but the team, and particularly Binod the guide, really made it special. Can't wait to come back for another trek.

Manaslu trek 2020 with the best company

I went on the Manaslu trek in March 2020 arranged by the local tour sepcialists and had an amazing time! The mountain and nature scenery was breathtaking and a really memorable hike for me! Nepal is such an amazing country with such lovely people. I felt safe every moment of the trek and the company really takes care about everything. Starting with a pick up from the airport and welcome dinner, they will help you with every concern. It was absolutely no problem to travel alone as a woman. Nikesh was the best guide I could wish for, we had a really good time. He always wanted me to be happy and took care about me. So I can 100% recommend it, it was a breathtaking amazing trek I will never forget. Everytime again, best choice:)

Brilliant trek with stunning mountain scenery though very remote villages, a great way to experience nepalease culture. Our guide Raju was amazing. He is an excellent mountain guide and made sure we crossed the larke pass safely in snow. Dhawar our porter was also great. A fantastic experience, highly recommended, ask for Raju.
