The tour was very well planned and the activity level was just about right. There was enough to do but still some private time.The best part of the trip was the beautiful scenery around every corner. I liked the different kinds of transportation. We were on the bus, train, and a cable car.
The whole experience was wonderful. It made our first trip to Europe a very informative and memorable adventure. Lake Maggiore was so pleasant and all of the train rides were beyond compare. Paolo was an excellent tour manager and he knew all the right places to eat and had great rapport with all of the hotels and restaurants along the way.
favorites: Alps train, Matterhorn, we took private boat tour of Maggiore & would recommend you provide that on your next tour; definitely worth the money. Dinner on Pescatore was also great evening. Damiano, our guide, was wonderful
I had a great trip and our Tour Manager made the trip even more enjoyable! Every day we had an activity and free time to explore. My favorite thing about the trip was hiking under the Matterhorn and seeing Mount Pilatus. The Hotel's were all unique and had a boutique feel, with rooms decorated like the towns we were visiting. Some of my favorite things this trip were Lago Maggiore (Stesa), FAI Cheese Tour, the Cog Wheel Train, Lucerne Old Town, exploring the Village of Zermatt and St. Moritz. The pace of the tour was quick, but also in depth in each location. The Tour Manager was always available to give her suggestions as to what to do during our "Free Time". She even helped us find a Tobbogan to ride... (not an included event, but maybe should be?)
This was our first experience with a group tour and it was great! I loved the variety of experiences, the accommodations were 4-5 star and our tour manager, Armando, was amazing! We will definitely consider a Collette tour again.
Great tour! Points of interest were wonderful. Tour guide was terrific!! His passion for the area as his organization and personality were unbeatable. I would recommend this tour to everyone. I would point out that the activity level is moderate. More than I anticipated.
