Reviews of our Krakow Tours for June
Feedback from guests whose tour started in/around Krakow during June.
Lunch on Insight tours is usually quite rushed and the only options are something with bread or a sweet. I am currently in Norway with Insight and lunch was a pastry. Not healthy!!
Selection of sites visited was superb. They achieved a proper mix of culture and history. Our Tour Director, was simply magnificent in his discussion of what was important.
I recently returned from the Upgraded The Baltic States and Poland trip with Explore, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The itinerary is very well-organised, and you certainly pack a lot in - there’s never a dull moment! Some of the standout highlights for me included the cookery class in Riga, which was both fun and a great way to connect with local culture, and the peaceful boat trip in Trakai, which offered beautiful views and a welcome moment to relax. We should have taken beers though! Our tour leader, Signe, was outstanding - very knowledgeable, approachable, and always on top of the logistics. Everything ran smoothly, which made the journey feel effortless for the group. One of the key differences with this upgraded tour is the standard of accommodation, which was noticeably higher than on Explore’s standard trips. The hotels were comfortable, well-located, and a welcome retreat after busy days of sightseeing. If I were to offer any constructive feedback, it would be that in some locations - particularly Riga, Vilnius, and Warsaw - it would have been nice to have a bit more time to explore at a more relaxed pace. In Warsaw especially, we found ourselves quite tired during a four-hour walking tour in the afternoon, and the local guide used there wasn’t quite as engaging as some of the others we encountered. That said, the trip delivers a lot of cultural insight, history, and scenic beauty across multiple countries in a relatively short time. If you're looking to get a taste of the Baltic region and Poland with everything taken care of, this upgraded tour is a great choice.
This was an excellent hiking holiday which was very well run by our guide Pawel. It featured great views and lots of beautiful scenery. The 1st three days were pretty intensive. The 4th day (Dunajec Gorge) was pleasant but a bit routine so I wonder if an extra day in the wonderful Zakopane area could be substituted. Also on two occasions, we didn’t have lunch until around 3 pm when the hike was nearly over so perhaps the route could be reconfigured a bit. Poland has a rich history and doesn’t seem to have been “discovered” yet so for those arriving early or staying on, there was lots to see and do. Krakow is truly spectacular – one of my favourite cities.
Signe was an exceptional tour leader who made the whole process simple and enjoyable. It’s a busy trip visiting 4 countries in so few days but the tour worked very well and the Baltics definitely deserve some more time to be spent there to discover more gems.
Trip was extremely well organized with a leader who quickly got to know the needs of her clients. The hotels were very clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic group of people who made the trip even more pleasant.
