Excellent

What really made this trip special was how much variety it packed into 12 days. It never felt repetitive. One day we were out on a game drive in Kruger National Park, watching elephants cross the road right in front of our vehicle. Next, we were in a completely different setting, standing in front of Victoria Falls, feeling the spray on our faces. It was surreal to experience such different landscapes and wildlife in such a short span of time. The weather also helped. It was nearly perfect throughout the tour. Mornings were cool and crisp, great for early safaris, and by afternoon it would warm up just enough without being uncomfortable. Every place felt timed just right. Our guide knew when to slow down and when to move on so we never missed anuything. Cape Town, especially, stood out. Seeing the Table Mountain was unlike anything I’d seen before. We took the cable car up, which was an optional tour and the views of the city and coastline were incredible. There was also a nice balance of cultural activities. We also did Winelands tour which yet was another amaing experience. I had some concerns before booking, but everything, from airport pickups to hotel check-ins was butter smooth. I felt safe and taken care of. You should surely give this one a try if you're traveling to South Africa for thr first time.

Excellent

The trip was terrific, and we were guided by excellent CEOs. Their care for us and local knowledge were second to none. The food was outstanding. All the local employees of the lodges were helpful and fun to interact with. The diversity of the wildlife that we saw is off the charts. We had the experience of a lifetime, and the next time we go on a tour, we will go with National Geographic and G Adventure. The staff at G Adventures were great to deal with and made it very easy for us to plan our trip. Everyone did a great job & we enjoyed our South African safari.

Very good tour, the group gelled and we had a lot of fun. The tour leader did a good job, and his knowledge of the areas we travelled to and history was very good. Accommodation was mostly very good. We were taken to nice restaurants where the food was always good and great value for money.

Magnificent landscape and challenging hikes. This is definitely a challenging itinerary; however, the views are worth it. We experienced outstanding service and flexibility that ensured we were able to fully enjoy our hiking adventure in the Drakensburg.

Fabulous way to experience South Africa

The outlined itinerary covers the vast, varied, and stunning scenery of the more rural South Africa. Plus time spent in Kruger National Park. This trip is for easy going and seasoned travelers who are willing to 'go with the flow'. There are times when a route might change, the weather isn't cooperating, or a pause for mechanical issues is necessary. This trip is a value !!! Together, in the sprinter van, long transfers are covered, the host/guide, makes comfort stops accordingly, and our bikes are on the trailer, with us. We are never too far from our day packs , snacks, and fluids. Having our own van in Kruger gave us flexibility for our own game drives. Having our meals prepped in Kruger gave us more time to use the pool, rest, birdwatch, and at night, watch the evening sky. We had little cultural interaction with the local people, yet we cycled through small town centers, farmland, and housing settlements with waves of "hello' hello'.
