Reviews of our Innsbruck Tours for December
Feedback from guests whose tour started in/around Innsbruck during December.
The tour was wonderful from start to finish. Our tour guide Joe was resourceful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Our accommodations were wonderful. When we arrived in Innsbruck and walking out of the hotel had not only a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains but also of one of the main Christkindlmarkts right across the street, I was confident that the tour had been well planned - and it was.
Visiting the Christmas markets was really nice. The organ concert was exceptional, and seeing some aspects of life in Austria and Bavaria and interacting with residents if the above was very interesting.
The Christmas Markets were great, it was my first time doing an overseas tour so I didn’t have much experience in that type of traveling. When I got back home, I felt the experience was not long enough and I wanted to go back.
Trip was truly magical. From visiting markets in several towns to learning how to make strudel after a sleigh ride, the pace and activities were perfect. One of my favorite things was the traditional tyrolean dinner show.
Our tour guide - Cuki - was the best. This was my husband and my 1st trip to Europe and it was perfect. Loved staying in 1 hotel for most of the trip and not having to pack up every day. Our favorite part was getting to explore each town on our own after we had our tours. We felt safe and acclimated to roam on our own. The carriage ride was definitely one of the highlights for me. Finding a local pub was on my husband’s list and we did in Innsbruck. The markets were magical (especially at night). Munich was fun and beautiful too! The market square was filled with Christmas cheer. Hofbrau house was another great adventure. Always wanted to go there. We also found the pink Christmas market which was stunningly beautiful. We met so many fun and nice people on the tour. We also made strudel - which I made for my friends at our Christmas party. Another highlight was the Tyrolean dinner and folklore show hosted by the talented Gundolf family. Dressed in traditional Austrian attire, they delighted us with beautiful songs, energetic dances, and performances on unique instruments—including a saw using a bow! Lastly we happen to see the scary creatures - Krumpus - are part of the Bavarian Christmas traditions. What a fun trip and we’d recommend it to many of our friends!!!
Tour guide and driver were excellent. Our room was too warm and with no window to see out. Heard partying one night until 2:30 in the morning. Bathtub was way too high to easily access. No grab bars. Room was too small for 2 people. Breakfast was great. Staff were great. Hotel close to shopping area and Christmas market was great. Walking tours were boring and too long. Too much info to take it all in while among sooo many other tourists. Too much time after the walking tours to shop at the markets. No place to rest while at the markets and waiting for the next event. You can only shop so long. Salzburg was a terrible day out in the rain. Should have cut down the shopping time and had lunch instead of dinner with a free evening. Peterskellter was beautiful but the meal not so. Not worth the day in the rain. The cab ride back to the bus was very awkward. The day to the town of the passion play was the best. The bus ride through the mountains was breathtaking. The short walking tour was perfect followed by lunch and brief time to shop made for a perfect day. While I enjoyed the trip, I would not recommend it to anyone up in age. I am 73 and was exhausted with all the on and off of the coach and walking tours. I would have enjoyed driving through the small towns/villages and seeing daily life. The strudel making was fun. More events like that would be nice. More variety of meals would be nice. No more apple strudel for me, thank you. The folk dinner/show was lots of fun. Tell group to try and find a way to get coins before the trip as the public restrooms require a coin.
