Best of Germany was a fun adventure. There are a couple of things I would suggest. The tour guide in Dresden knew a lot of information, but she kept us standing in one spot after another for long periods of time, and she was hard to hear. Found the woodworking place boring. Sorry I would have liked to visit more castles. Hotels were great. My 16-year-old grandson liked the tour, but he wasn't too keen on the food. *personal info removed by Feefo* in Berlin, was excellent. Porcilian factory, my grandson had no desire to see. Everything was rather rushed, we need to slow down a bit, let us explore and enjoy what we are seeing. Maybe have a hands-on project at one of the stops. Have a game where each person gets a sheet with daily activities to check off, and ask the tour agent to see if people notice this—some game where you can explore and see more. Learn history. Have a language sheet that can help us understand the language better. Name tags for each traveler, so it’s easier to remember their names. The pillows in the Rotherburg hotel were terrible. They need to upgrade them. The night waterman in Rotherburg was super, that should be on the tour. Did not go to Nuremberg, explored Rothenburg instead. Tour guy *personal info removed by Feefo* in Rotherburg was great too. We had A LOT OF RAIN. Need to slow down so we can see what we are seeing. Grandson loved the printing press; he got to do it and keep what he printed—made his day. Hands-on things so we can make things. Just some thoughts
On the whole, this was a very well organised tour. The bus journey to Hamburg took a long time and we did not see much of the town unless we joined an optional tour in Hamburg. The evening meal in the Black Forest hotel in Breitnau was very unsatisfactory. The final night in the Sheraton hotel in Offenbach was a disaster. The hotel internet did not work. The cold water tap in our bathroom did not work and although we complained about this, the staff did nothing about it. There was an intermittent banging noise from our bathroom from 2 am onwards which disturbed my sleep a lot. However, on the whole I enjoyed the Best of Germany tour a lot and our guide, Maddy, was very competent and caring.
It is busy with little down time, unless you don't go on any of the optional excursions. However, the excursions are excellent! Many major cities and locations are on this tour.
The trip is well laid out with time for self exploration of the stops and group time activities. We didn’t have to worry about many things during the trip because our tour director had it all handled. Great trip if you are looking the travel with a guide group.
For me and my family, it was perfect to see these cities that are eastward in Europe. Two nights in each city was exactly right for us because we love to walk and walk and were able to see everything we wanted to see in that time.
This was a basic “get a glance” trip to get a good taste of the places listed in the ad. Most of the Hotels are not centrally located, but taking public transportation was doing. I was not given the name and address of our first hotel and by the time it was,we were on the road. Then we were told the agency canceled our trip. Thank goodness the tour guide eventually added us back into the tour. Breakfasts were all very good. Hotels had the basic emenities. This is a good little trip to get a quick tast of each country. Nothing more.
