Douro Valley Tours in May 2027

I was blown away by how beautiful Porto is. The walking tour was a great intro, and the wine cellar visit in Gaia was both educational and delicious. Loved the rabelo boat ride too!

A magnificent well organized journey through this beautiful country. Our tour director was knowledgable and throughout the tour, guided us with pertinent information, and mini-slide presentations while we were traveling on the super-comfortable Insight coach. Our driver was , who drove us safely throughout the country. We enjoyed all the sites, the hotels, and included meals. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in an indepth experience in beautiful Portugal, where the locals were welcoming, and friendly. We took all the extra tours, and glad we did.

beautiful places to visit but give ladies more time to shop at destinations where there might be an opportunity to wander the shops. many ladies in our group were also interested in shopping ….a little more time would be appreciated!!!

This is a fabulous tour. The itinerary hits almost every location of interest in beautiful Portugal. It is well thought out, local guides provide expert background information. There is a combination of walking tours, major historical sites with trips to vineyards, shopping opportunites, and even a cork factory. The days are broken up with a variety of activities so that it is exciting and fresh all day long. The boat cruise on the river was a great way to see Porto. The small number of women-only travellers was a big hit. At least six of us were solo travelers but we were surrounded by new friends the whole time. Never once did I feel lonely or left out. The bus was spacious and very comfortable. The tour guide was professional, personable and on point. This is my very favorite group tour ever.

The tour touched on so much of Portugal's culture, history, agriculture, and architecture, that there was not a minute we weren't totally interested. And the amount of ground we covered was all so interesting and diverse that we really think we couldn't have done more. Our tour director was friendly, knowledgeable, and just a very interesting person. The specialist guides were very good.

Trip provides an excellent overview of the country of Portugal. Excursions are a variety of historical, culture and food/wine. Hotels were in close proximity to areas of interest for free time.
