Trafalgar has an awesome itinerary here, but in order to see and do all that we did, the schedule is not for the faint of heart, or anyone looking to have a “rest and relax” kind of vacation. It entails very early mornings, typically 5:45 a.m. every day, in order to have suitcases out the door by 6:30 or 6:45 for loading onto the bus, and a lot of getting on and off the bus for the frequent enough “comfort” stops necessary along with the sightseeing stops. It can be exhausting, especially if there are evening activities that entail late evening arrivals back at the lodging, so my advice is to go into such an adventure knowing that although there is ample “down time” on the bus to rest up in between stops, it takes a fair amount of energy and stamina to keep up with the pace of the activities. Also, because there is a lot crammed into each day, often the stops along the way are hurried a bit more than desired, and one is on a strict time table to adhere to the schedule and not cause any delays. Fortunately, our group was incredibly responsible and considerate of one another, and we never had any issues, but we were on a kind of military time in order to get everything in. Kudos to our Travel Director, though, for keeping us all well informed and reminded often of our time deadlines and for watching out for us so that we didn’t miss any of the sights we were to see or any of the very fun and enjoyable “surprises” he and our wonderful driver, had in store for us almost every day. They were some of the highlights of our trip and well worth looking forward to!!! All in all, it was a fabulous trip, and I would highly recommend it but only with the knowledge going into it that it requires some serious stamina and a sense of willingness to be adventurous, even despite the repeated very, very early mornings day after day which is the effort that this trip requires.
No free water on coach. A charge of a dollar a bottle though minimal, was a turn off as we were told to hydrate as much as possible. On other tours we have taken with Trafalgar in Italy, Collete, Caravan and AAA Tours, you were always given water
Never been there. So I now know more than before. Beautiful part of this country. Plenty of time to look and learn. Rating would be higher if there were no ill people on the bus. All of us in my group became sick also. I am just now recovering 2 weeks later. Poorest grades to the bathroom facilities near the end when we were forbidden from using the rest room.
Whether we went to lunch, a visitor center, a rest stop, or visit a tourist site, we were always rushed. Too often, we were given a tight deadline to get back to the bus. Would giving us 15 or 20 minutes more really hurt the scheduling? The breakfasts at the Colorado Hotel and Strater Hotel were limited and we had to ask for more food to be put out. The dinners at the beginning and end of the trip that were included were terrible. The driver was an expert at navigating the curvy and narrow turns, but he could have given more air conditioning.
