Canary Islands Tours and Trips
Just off the coast of Morocco sits the Spanish territories of the Canary Islands. The Canaries are a total of 7 islands, namely: Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. While a Spanish territory, the islands are an eclectic mix of European, South American and Sub-Saharan African residents though the predominant culture is very European. Many Europeans choose to holiday in Canary Islands, meaning there is no shortage of beachfront resorts. However, with a rich history and lush natural beauty with a perfect climate, the Canary Islands beg to be explored.

Unfortunately we were hit with the big storm part way through the trip but the walks we did manage to do were very good. Our tour leader Ester Galindo was fantastic and did a great job finding alternative things to do when we could not follow the itinerary due to the weather. It may not have all gone as planned but I would still recommend this trip.
An excellent week, and an excellent guide Ester Galindo. Everything was great - accommodations, walking itinerary, scenery, guide expertise, and guide resourcefulness in switching activities to other great options when Storm Teresa arrived! Recommended :)
Gran Canaria is a Garden of Eden and it's hard to go wrong with a visit to the island. Despite the full-0n tourist traps in the South the interior is remarkably unspoiled and genuine. Furthermore, the trip was made perfect for us by our guide, Ester Galindo. Not only was she impeccable in managing every complexity of the arrangements and keeping us in touch and informed. She was also delightful company, always upbeat and positive, full of the joys as if she were herself on an exciting holiday and not hard at work. As our leader this helped us to bond as a very pleasant group of quite disparate individuals. When a named storm came crashing through on the last two days her skill in devising new routes keeping us safe and happy and salvaging a near disaster was remarkable. Explore staff in the call centres are excellent but can I suggest that the trip notes need a thorough editing to make them briefer and clearer. For example at page four giving arrival and departure information there is an excess of repetitive information and it could be fraction as long. Information on finding the bus makes it sound easy but it isn't. It should tell us to turn right into the long arrivals hall and look for the overhead direction signs with the square bus symbol and GLOBAL, the name of the company. This will take you up one floor. On leaving the building turn diagonally right, cross the service road and car park and find the stand for Bus 11. This gives times for the buses which differ hourly. It's useless using the roundabout as a reference as you can hardly see it. Someone needs to walk it out and redraft the directions. Excellent value and a really memorable trip. Thank you.
Beautiful location for hiking/ walking trip based out of 2 towns with easy access from airport and to other towns/ cities by bus. It was a bit cooler and windy than typical but still nice and made the full countryside green and lush. Interesting history and archeology mixed in. Fabulous local foods. Gabi was a terrific leader - thoughtful, fun and a great logistics manager!
The accommodations were good, comfortable and perfectly adequate. The walking tracks took us through varied terrain and in parts, were challenging underfoot They showed some spectacular views of lush meadows, ravines, caves, mountains, waterways, volcanic craters and geology. Our guide, Gabi, was warm, friendly, inclusive and helpful. She had good local knowledge of the paths, plants, history, transport, restaurants etc. She went above and beyond to ensure ou4 group and individual needs were accommodated. A memorable trip!
David lead us on a variety of beautiful (steep up and down in places) mountain walks. Paths quite rocky and loose in places, so recomend boots and poles. Mainly lucky with the weather, though unfortunately high winds closed the walking trails on the last 2 days. Great tour leader, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, delivering a good itinerary. Lots of flowers and interesting vegetation. Would recommend the trip.
