Cairo Tours in Fall

An excellent and very well organised tour combining all the aspects one could want for a 'bucket list' trip to Egypt. The activities, both the included and optional, were well paced with time to relax as well as soak up the history. All the staff were fabulous, knowledgeable, and supportive.

The tour was very well thought out and planned. Every detail of travel and accommodations was covered. My tour guide, was awesome and answered all of the groups questions, kept us on track, but also allowed us to explore and have fun while seeing all the sites.

This trip was fantastic. We participated in most of the optional extras. The best of which was the Balloon ride for the sunrise over the tombs and Nile. Our local explore tour guide Mariam was marvellous and she was so knowledgeable and friendly. Nothing was too much for her. She told us so much interesting information All sites seen in Cairo and on route were wonderful. The Cruise too was a joy. The optional light show in Karnak was not what was expected and I would say give it a miss! The beach extension hotel was clean, pools good, food excellent. The optional snorkelling by a local provider was a great disappointment and not what we had hoped for. Not many fish and not a good reef. But the boat trip was enjoyable too. There is are some areas of hotel need updating. Mini Golf/crazy golf course needs attention. Evening entertainment could have been better, but all in all we had a good relaxing 4 days there.

I highly recommend booking this trip if you want a fascinating exploration through ancient and modern Egypt. We got to see so many places that felt straight out of a National Geographic documentary! We had a small group of seven plus our exceptional tour guide named Rania who helped make this truly the trip of a lifetime. I have been a lot of cool places in the world but I believe this may be this coolest thing I have ever done. 10/10

The trip to Egypt was absolutely amazing. Our tour leader ( Said or Sayed )was exceptional - bringing the mysteries of Ancient Egypt to life with his knowledge, expertise, storytelling with such charm humility and sense of humour. We learnt so much and were hanging off his every word. The itinerary was perfectly balanced. Full of exciting days normally beginning early but having a couple of hours of free time in the afternoon to relax if that’s what you wanted. The hotels were great and the train ride an experience. It’s not the Orient Express but you are warned about that and we just took it as it was and enjoyed the whole journey to Aswan on the overnight sleeper. . The middle day on the boat travelling to Luxor a welcome break from the hustle and bustle. But it was still exciting watching the Nile go by. There were so many highlights from the Great Pyramids, Saqquara, Abu Simbel, Karnak and hot air balloon ride. We did all the optional extras and they are well worth it. Don’t be put off by the long drive to Abu Simbel - you don’t want to miss that. We spent hours at the Old Cataract Hotel on our free morning in Aswan - full of atmosphere and exquisite colonial charm. You have to pay to go in but it’s worth it and you can redeem that money against tea, cake, beer, and the view is absolutely beautiful. We lived and loved every second. We had a lovely group of 7 and the tour leader Sayed (Said) was the perfect accompaniment making the trip probably the best trip we have ever taken. He gets 10 out of 10! We can’t fault Explore! either - great communication and very well organised. We will definitely use them again.

I have been travelling with Explore for nearly 25 years. I think they are a first class tour company. They are 100% honest and I always feel totally confident when I travel with them. I know I will be looked after by first class guides and I will meet delightful people. I can't fault Explore.
