Bilbao Tours in September 2026

This was my second time on the trip and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. This is a lesser known part of Spain that is well worth seeing and the trip is made so much more by the tour leader Juan and his family run hotel. I would however recommend a time of year for the trip when the temperatures are a bit lower as it is fairly tough hike some days that would probably be less enjoyable in blazing sun and heat.

We had an excellent, very enjoyable trip. The activity was very well planned and extremely well organised. No waiting about or tramping along roads! The hotel was great, a beautiful family run affair and the food was fabulous with as much excellent wine as you wanted. All in all a great holiday.

Fantastic trip! Great people, wonderful accommodation and food, and stunning scenery! The guide was brilliant, passionate and funny and he and his family looked after us amazingly well. Would definitely recommended.

A great trip made special by an outstanding leader with vast knowledge and experience. In other circumstances, the weather and route closures could have had a negative effect on the trip but our leader's adjustments to the itinerary meant that we had the best possible experience.

This was a fantastic trip. Juan Jo, our guide, was friendly and professional at all times, and it's obvious that he knows the area very well and loves his job. He and his family work incredibly hard to run both the hotel and the tours, and they do an amazing job at it. All the walks were fantastic, the hotel is lovely and the food was delicious. I don't usually do the same trip twice, but in this case I would be tempted.

I loved my Back Roads tour to Northern Spain. Everyday was fabulous! Julia was the most wonderful tour guide. She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic & such fun!! The best tour guide ever! The accomodation was better than I imagined. Very disappointed in our meal at Monasterio de Boltaña. It was inedible! I hate to think what we’d paid for it!!!!!
