Bilbao Tours in June 2026

Absolutely amazing holiday in a part of Spain I'd never even heard of before. Stunning and varied scenery. Juan Jo, our guide, was brilliant - friendly, patient, unbelievably knowledgeable and super interesting. It was great to have a local guide who has lived in the area for decades and is so knowledgeable about the mountains and mountain sports. Juan Jo's family run the hotel which made it extra special. You do need to be fairly fit for this holiday and I was happy to get away with just a couple of blisters. We had a fun group and I really enjoyed meeting meeting everyone. I'm very tempted to book another Picos holiday later this summer!

This was a great week in the Picos de Europa. The lovely family-run hotel, located in the beautiful village of Sotres is a perfect base to explore the mountains. Thank you to our wonderful guide, Juan Jose, for looking after us so well and for sharing his incredible local knowledge and passion of the area.

We saw some amazing places and stayed in wonderful places. Our guide and local guides did a great job of instilling a sense of how proud the people are of what they have been through history. I don’t think I had ever heard of Girona, but it was a wonderful stop. Pamplona was a bucket list stop so only half a day is somewhat disappointing. We had the most amazing tour director. Julia went so far behind her duties to make sure we appreciated that part of the world. She organized group meals that were so much fun and gave us a great taste of local customs. She introduced us to Basque cheesecake. She told us about quirky local customs.

This was a great trip with a superb leader. The Picos are beautiful and the walks planned to enable us to see different aspects. Some of the walks were quite challenging especially the climb to Vega de Urriello Refuge on the second day. The hotel, which is run by the guide’s family, was a relaxing friendly place. The food was good and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this trip.

A great way to see this part of Spain. Juan José and his family were excellent hosts. The food was spectacular and as a vegetarian they catered to my dietary needs very well. The hikes were excellent and challenging at times. I would rate two of them as a 4 out of 5 in terms of difficulty, the rest I would class as 3 out of 5. You would need a good level of fitness for this trip and experience hiking.
