Curious about the ultimate India and Nepal adventure? The "Delhi to Kathmandu" tour package promises an in-depth, 19-day journey from the bustling streets of New Delhi to the cultural heart of Kathmandu. This small group trip is perfect for travelers eager to experience the diversity and depth of two of South Asia’s most captivating countries, blending historical sightseeing, spiritual encounters, and thrilling wildlife adventures.
Begin your exploration in Delhi, where you’ll witness the city’s unique blend of historic grandeur and contemporary energy—think India Gate and Humayun’s Tomb. In Agra, greet the Taj Mahal at sunrise, its marble aglow in the early light, and dive deeper into Mughal history during a heritage walk. Jaipur, the celebrated "Pink City," awaits with its majestic Amber Fort and lively markets, where you’ll get hands-on with block printing—a showcase of Rajasthan’s famed artistry.
Returning briefly to Delhi, hop aboard a train to Varanasi, India’s spiritual epicenter. Here, the sacred Ganges River frames mesmerizing rituals—witness the evening Aarti ceremony and glide along the river at dawn, taking in the city’s ancient traditions.
Crossing into Nepal, your first stop is Lumbini, where you’ll explore the sacred birthplace of Buddha, immersing yourself in Buddhist heritage. The adventure ramps up in Bardia National Park, Nepal’s premier wildlife sanctuary, where jeep safaris and guided walks might bring you face-to-face with elephants, rhinoceroses, and even elusive tigers—a rare treat for nature lovers.
The journey culminates in Kathmandu, where the vibrant energy of Durbar Square and the spiritual serenity of Swayambunath Stupa capture Nepal’s unique spirit. Along the way, you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodations, seamless transport, and a range of included meals. Optional extensions allow you to tailor this tour to your interests.
What makes this trip stand out? Its seamless blend of iconic landmarks, immersive local experiences, and rare wildlife encounters—all within one comprehensive itinerary. Chitwan National Park, and the less visited Bardia National Park are beautiful regions full of varied, colourful wildlife. The jungle & river landscapes are home to many birds and animals including the majestic Indian elephant, endangered one-horned rhino, and the ever-elusive Bengal tiger. This tour combines exciting safari activities in both of these parks, with a walk through the Nagarjun Forest Reserve in the Kathmandu Valley, and the remote Shreeban Nature Camp allowing you plenty of time to immerse yourself in and experience Nepal's natural beauty and to discover its wildlife.
You begin in Kathmandu with a fully guided tour of this fascinating, sprawling city. The tour includes Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and some time to stop at the many Stupas and Bahals that lie concealed within the city. You also take a nature walk through the Nagarjun Forest Reserve on the side of the valley, where you should see deer and monkeys, and enjoy some of the best birdwatching in the valley.
From Kathmandu a short drive and a couple of hours walking (jeeps available) brings you to the Shreeban Nature Camp, from where you'll get spectacular mountain views, and a chance for more birdwatching and easy trekking through the surrounding farmland and forest.
We then leave the mountains and descend into the plains and forests of Nepal's lowland Terai, to Chitwan National Park. Once at the park, you have a range of activities including a jeep safari into the park, and a canoe ride and jungle walk along the Rapti River to view the wildlife, While getting much busier and a little commercialised now, Chitwan remains the best place in Nepal to see the endangered one-horned rhino.
You then leave Chitwan and drive through the Terai to Bardia National Park where you have the next three full days to enjoy a range of activities in and around the park. The largest of Nepal's lowland Terai National Parks (and our favourite!), Bardia is mixture of riverine and sal forests, and is home to a large and diverse selection of wildlife. Here you will take time to explore the park and its colourful inhabitants by jeep and on foot, and also take to the water for a gentle rafting trip to view the wildlife from another perspective. The bird watching is excellent, and you have the best chance of seeing tigers in the whole of Nepal.
From Bardia we fly back to Kathmandu where you have some free time for a little more sightseeing or to stroll around the many shops and stall in search of a few souvenirs.

If you’re seeking a wilder side of Nepal far from the usual tourist trails, the Bardia National Park 5 Days/4 Nights safari trip delivers an authentic wilderness experience. Situated in the country’s remote northwest, Bardia is Nepal’s largest national park and boasts one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems in the region.
Unlike the busier Chitwan, Bardia’s secluded location ensures fewer visitors, making wildlife encounters more intimate and thrilling. Here, you’ll explore lush forests that are home to rare and endangered species, including the elusive Bengal tiger, wild elephants, one-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, Gharial crocodile, Gangetic dolphin, and even the majestic Sarus Crane.
The park’s varied habitats—ranging from dense jungle to riverine landscapes—promise a safari adventure teeming with biodiversity. Expect long but rewarding travel days, as getting to Bardia takes dedication (a bus ride of up to 20 hours), but the payoff is unparalleled access to Nepal’s pristine wilderness.
For travelers who crave authentic wildlife encounters in tranquil surroundings, this tour package stands out for its exclusivity and ecological richness. Its unique selling point is the opportunity to experience Nepal’s untouched wild side, where you can spot endangered animals without the crowds.
