Baku Tours in July 2026

This was an exciting and incredibly informative travel experience. The guides and drivers were terrific and passionate about their countries. If you are interested in history and being introduced to this fascinating part of the world, then I would recommend this tour.

These three small countries are not small to be visited. They are great and amazing, rich with historical sites and picturesque panoramas. With Shabby as our tour leaders our journey became full with joy and memorable. Thank you Shabby, thank you tour operator.

This is a good 12 day tour exploring the newly opened countries to tourism. I enjoyed company of other travellers and tour guide. Good food, good spots to see and nice night life to enjoy.

This tour takes you to countries that are only just emerging within the tourism industry. It's an amazing opportunity to experience the completely original cultures and food of each country. The local guides are so open and knowledgeable. The more tours the local guides do, the better they will become at managing larger tour groups. There is so much to see and do! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour!

You get what you pay for and ExPat does a nice job in packing in lots. The group was large, but certainly congenial and fun; Shabby, our guide was wonderful with a great sense of humor and a joy to be with. The local guides were extremely informed and helpful, particularly Lena in Georgia. The bus in Azerbaijan had trouble with AC and it was HOT. The Armenian bus was tops in comfort and AC; all drivers were amazing. Georgia was a challenging drive, but the driver handled the difficulties with great skills. Occasionally the timing was uncomfortable...i.e. lunch at about 4pm, but given the distances and things to see, perhaps it was impossible to arrange a meal differently. The home hosted meals were very interesting. I felt that the trip was a wonderful overview of the countries. There was certainly a huge amount of food. The hotels were clean and comfortable. In general, I like smaller group travel, but I would certainly consider ExPat again.

I have traveled with Explore about 10 times- and it saddens me to write that this will be my last trip with them. I like that Explore does not put the groups into chains / western hotels. The quality of the hotels on this trip ranged from lovely to not acceptable. We stayed in eight different hotels and each time that we had to change hotels I had to wonder, would the next hotel be acceptable? And for the places we stayed where they were not acceptable - there were other options of places to stay. Explore was clearly cutting corners to save money. Additionally, sometimes the hotels were in great locations and other times they were not. (I have attached photos of a couple places that were not acceptable.) The itinerary was filled with too many churches and monasteries and not enough time in the cities. We spent way too much time on the bus and not enough time actually seeing things. We typically left the hotels around 8:30 and wouldn't get back until 5:30 and we would only spend about 3 hours actually walking around. This meant we spent on average 6 hours many days on the bus. We ate 2 lunches at a local truck stop / gas station and a few times we did not the chance to eat until 2:30 pm. The tour leader in Georgia was the best I have ever had - on any trip. He is incredibly well educated and gave us clear instructions and taught us about the history, culture, and politics of his country. He spoke perfect English and with almost no accent. He is warm, friendly, easy to travel with and gave the perfect amount of information. The other 2 tour leaders were nothing special. I had trouble understanding them and they often did not give clear information.
