Sure, 55 days might sound like a lot of time, but this once-in-a-life time experience offers you the gift of time in some of the most epic landscapes in the world. See swaths of south and east Africa as you journey by Lando (overland adventure vehicle) across open savanna and by traditional canoe into the Okavango Delta. Track mountain gorillas deep in the Ugandan tropical rainforest and search for the “big five” on safari drive in the Serengeti and listen to the thundering Victoria Falls to get a real sense of how large Africa truly is. The Rongai route begins at the remote northern side of Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border. We will be hiking through a true wilderness area towards the jagged Mawenzi Peak then cross a barren desert before climbing up Kibo’s eastern crater wall. The Rongai route is a more slow ascent and is therefore preferred by those with little or no backpacking experience but is equally enjoyable for even the most hardened Kilimanjaro climbers.
During the climb you will have 5 nights of full-service camping, with a private toilet tent. There is a large communal tent, which is used for dining and at other times in the event of inclement weather. Limited single accommodation is also available and includes a single tent as well as the hotel nights.
We can arrange extra accommodation before or after the trip if needed.

My recent week-long safari was really beyond my expectations. I feel like I won the jackpot with this safari company, however I'm not exactly sure how other ones operate. The Ngorogoro Crater and the Serengeti provided amazing safari experiences, and I was thrilled to see all five of the Big Five among so many other creatures. In addition, I saw more of Tanzania's culture and history than I had anticipated. The highlight was visiting a Masai community and interacting with the warriors and tribesmen there.
