Everything that was mentioned in the itinerary came through with flying colors. I've been on two cruises to Alaska which were fantastic as they explored the South Eastern portion of the State. In contrast, Trafalgar provided the sights that I never saw on a cruise. The motor coach driver, and our tour guide, are both a "10" rating in my book. There were so many highlights but the number one was being able to see Mt. Denali to it's peak on a very exceptional clear day. I was so fortunate because according to only 30% of travelers are able to experience that special treat.
The itinerary was much more adventurous and culturally immersive than expected - which was great. The Insight marketing material and portal describing the trip were fairly general in nature. I think Insight could benefit by going into more depth in describing local cultural and optional activities. For example, to simply state a visit to a farm or museum doesn’t say much - those included visits were amazing! Travel Director was phenomenal, as was Driver . These two were the icing on the cake for me - couldn’t imagine a better team to make Jewels of Alaska the trip of a lifetime. One item on the agenda was just a bit disappointing, as the Denali National Park tour was on a very crowded, uncomfortable school bus. I would have preferred a smaller coach with just our tour group. Perhaps the Denali History Tour would be a better option for this itinerary. All things considered, this trip was fabulous and I would highly recommend it.
