Amsterdam Tours in April 2027

My Country Roads trip through Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands was a truly enriching experience. I appreciated the relaxed pace of the itinerary, which allowed us to explore not just the major cities but also the smaller towns and countryside that gave a deeper sense of each country's charm and character. The tour was well-organized, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to everyone’s needs. I especially enjoyed the scenic drives, local food, and cultural experiences like walking tours and visits to lesser-known landmarks. As someone not used to colder weather, I was thankful that the pace and accommodations were comfortable throughout. I also packed light as suggested, which made moving between destinations much easier. Overall, I would highly recommend this itinerary to anyone looking for a culturally rich, relaxed, and scenic European experience.

The itinerary covered the cities well. The Tour Director was excellent and caring attending to each guests needs and concerns. Each city was walkable if you have the stamina and watch out for loose unlevel cobblestones roads and sidewalks and bicycles flying by you. Assume Pedestrians have no right of way, bicycles do!!! There were too many stops to view military cemeteries and memorials. Some local guides paced themselves a bit too fast but were very educational. Make sure you take an umbrella or raincoat and prepare to wear layers because the weather can go from cold to hot or you can get a short lived drizzling of rain in the month of April. We were given 3 hrs to visit the Keukenhof Gardens we covered about 90% including taking tons of pictures. Ideally 4 hours would be perfect. It is 79 acres a lot of paved walking area to cover, the hotel rooms were nice but the chateau in Luxembourg was 1 hr drive away from the city of Luxembourg. All the boat cruises were fantastic. There were only two things that were disappointing the driver in all my previous multiple tours always helped the women off the bus and smiled and greeted everyone with a smile. This one failed to do so on both counts. I was traveling with my wife so she did not need it but there were several elderly women and he just stood on the sideline, this was a first,maybe that is a new protocol because of COVID. The only other warning is do not order the pork dish at the restaurant L’Ecurie du Parc in Luxembourg. It was a kids portion, tough, all bone and fat and only 2 small morsels of meat. The trip was enjoyable and exceeded our expectations except for the 3 observations noted above. Insight always comes through for us! I have traveled extensively to over 32 European countries with Tour group so I am not a Newbie so have comparisons to go by for your benefit. Enjoy experiencing the Beauty God has created for us to enjoy. Travel while you can still walk, climb and crawl!

Spectacular Intense Tour. The itinerary covered an excellent variety of sites and was.very comprehensive. Please warn anyone who wants to take part in every optional tour that they should know the tour is very intense with very little down time. Because the countries are so small and the distance between sites short, a tourist has little time to take a “ siesta” on the bus. Thus I would like to see more scheduled “free time”. 60 minutes here and there is not enough if you are required to find a restaurant and eat lunch as well. I would have loved to walk around Ghent more but we had to eat and that left us no time to explore. Getting back to our rooms late in the evening after supper gave us no time to unwind from the hectic day and prepare for the next one especially if you had to pack to move onto the next hotel.

The trip was well planned but another night in Rotterdam and leaving off the cruise there and spending more time exploring would be great. There is a ton of history on this trip and the scenery is breathtaking. If you can go during April when you can see the tulips...it is a MUST!

It is non-stop everyday with sightseeing history. We saw all the top interesting sites with a tour guide which was needed to understand the architecture that is so historic. it was suggested to tip the tour guide each time. There is walking everyday , mostly on cobblestone streets, which is doable with the right shoes. all of the extra experiences were great, but you have to realize that is your free time. But it is all planned and you are taken right to the front door.Everything was exactly on time. The hotels were all good. the food was OK. The tour guide and bus driver were excellent.

The itinerary was organized, well paced and provided for many varied memorable experiences. Our Tour Director was thoughtful in explaining each day's agenda and to assist in our expectations; he ensured everyone in our tour were well looked after - thank you! Our Motorcoach Driver was very skilled and provided peace-of-mind in regards to the various country roads excursions all across the three countries visited. Lastly, the local expert guides were appreciative of our choosing Insight and shared their knowledge and expertise - invaluable!
