This was most definitley the best trip of my entire life! What an amazing adventure. I was in two minds as to whether this was the trip for me, right up until I arrived I guess. The whole experience, from the people I travelled with, the inspirational guides and porters who looked after us, to the incredible feeling of reaching the summit, was just one that I will never, ever forget. Both Exodus and The African Walking Company inspired complete trust and confidence. DEFINITELY DO THIS TRIP !! Absolutely brilliant, if you love wildlife and east african culture I would recommend this trip, if this is your first east african trip it is a must. Wonderful people and wildlife in 3 beautiful countries and you get to go to the fabulous masai mara on your first few days, also to Lake Nakuru with the Rhino's and flamingoes. Across into Uganda where it is more lush and green then Kenya where we stayed at Lake Bunyonyi and visited a childrens Orphanage run by Crystal - Loving Hearts Helping Hands - this was amazing and the walk up to this is lovely, gets you out of breath but the guy who took us stops frequently for everyone. The nature walk at Lake Mburo was really good and we needed a good walk by this time after sitting in the overland vehicle, the Ranger who took us was really informative. Then onward into Rwanda and Ruhengeri where we trekked the fabulous gorillas.

A fantastic week on Kilimanjaro. This was my 2nd attempt @ Kili after previously climbing on the Rongai route. I was under the misguided impression that this would be easier. How wrong! Each day was significantly harder than the Rongai route and in my mind the final ascent was just as hard as previously. It is a long day! It took me 9 hours to get to Stella point, another 5ish to get down, then a quick lunch break before the final 2-3 hour walk to Millenium camp. This trip is far harder than you believe it will be however you will form great friendships and ultimately have one of the most memorable weeks of your life.
