A thoroughly enjoyable tour which gave a very good impression of the Azores. Although the weather was not ideal (some quite wet and windy weather with poor visibility), the programme was altered to make the best of things. The tour leader was excellent and got us through a difficult situation when a flight was cancelled and we had to stay a night unexpectedly on an island where we were just expecting to transit through. This was a benefit as we saw some extra things! The members of the group got on with each other very well and this added to the enjoyment of the trip.

Great experience! Our guide, Pete was fantastic. He had great detailed information about the area and all the history. It was reassuring to see how much he was concerned about the group's safety. Food was very rustic, plentiful and delicious. Great location to explore the area from.

The trip was well planned and gave an opportunity to walk in different parts of the island, including a chance to stay by the sea. All the hotels were comfortable and usually quiet. There were some quirks such as all hotels having terrible coffee machines but in general the standard was high. The group leader Felipe was excellent, friendly, calm and capable in all circumstances, rearranging the programme to suit the changeable weather.

The entire Rome experience was awesome with adequate leisure time. Could’ve spent more time in Pompeii. Loved the pasta factory, Isle of Capri, winery, and glass blowing factory events. Felt that we were rushed thru the Vatican Basilica and Sistine Chapel. Would’ve loved to have single couples on the gondola ride. Would’ve liked more leisure time in Stresa.

Dario, tour manager, and Camilo, bus driver were excellent! All experiences were memorable. We did so much it would be hard to choose just one. Would definitely travel with Colette again.

Nicola | Traveled in November

This walking trip was a wonderful experience. Our guide, Bert, was so organised, knowledgeable and caring. He kept everything running smoothly, made allowances for different fitness levels and ensured we all had fun. The hotel was a great place to relax after a day’s walking and the different restaurants each night were most enjoyable, We finished the trip with a sense of achievement and lots of new friends.
