Itinerary was good. Tour Managers spotify playlist blasting through the coach speakers was ruined the enjoyment of the tour.
This trip is aptly titled. It was truly the contrasts of Switzerland. Incredible mountain scenery, urban cities, farms and farmers. Excellent!
Itinerary flowed smoothly with lots of info provided along the way. Good optional experiences, although for on drinkers the dinner experience should/could be priced less. More time at Isola dei Pescatori would be good, as we had little time to wander after lunch. The overnight at Locarno I was not impressed with, nothing around , but a walk to Ascona which was pretty, but would have been fine without out and maybe going straight to St Moritz instead that day, as time in St Moritz was minimal and we really didn't have time to see the town. Roseg valley horse and carriage was nice but not through wild beauty of alps, as we followed a road used by cars and bikes which passed us quite regularly. More time at Interlaken would also be great. Overall I enjoyed the trip and learned much about Switzerland.
It was a wonderful itinerary but with the ride on the Glacier Express should be cut in half. Five hours was a very long time, especially after riding on the train through the Bernina Pass. The train on the Bernina Pass was roomier, with open windows, and about 2-2.5 hours.
The itinerary provides an excellent overview of the country. I am glad we visited all four official language regions. At first glance I thought that the Lake Geneva region may have been over-emphasized, but, in handsight, I had greatly underestimated the scenic and cultural interest of the region. I really enjoyed this region, especially Montreux and Lousanne.
The heat really had a negative impact on our trip. Therefore, I feel our guide should have maybe been given alternative excursions that would have been more appropriate for the group. Rather than, we went to a city, were taken to a spot she was contracted to take us to, then set free in a strange place in 96 degree temperatures to fend for ourselves for 2-3 hours. Total waste of time and money. Not impressed with the fondue dinner or risotto dinner at all. Our luggage was damaged (cracked on one side) by one of the transport companies.
