Niagra Falls was my favorite. Getting to visit 4 different cities balanced with nature attractions drew me to the trip. City hotels were amazingly quiet. Activity Level should be higher. This was NOT a Level 1. My guests struggled. Lots of walking on uneven surfaces and hills. Pow Wow dinner was kind of disappointing. This area probably offers better indigenous opportunities. Would have liked a broader scope for free time activities.
The trip was fabulous. Our tour guide was fantastic-very knowledgeable and full of energy. The only accommodation which was less than desirable was the WestMark in Fairbanks, Alaska. All the other lodging was exceptionally and we would have loved to spend more time there. Holland America Westerdam cruise was wonderful as well. Food was great, the entertainment was excellent and the ship was beautiful.
It was all terrific ! Seeing the variety of animals and the beautiful scenery was outstanding. Loved steam paddle boat trip, Denali Park, the conservation area to rehabilitate injured animals, the whale watching, and the excursion in Ketchikan.
I had been on Collette tours before this one and they were great, so I expected the same however this one was more than I expected. Since touring the Isles of Cape Cod I thought this would be like that only in Canada. It was so much more to see and learn - especially that the tour is in the Atlantic Standard time zone and there is also a Newfoundland time zone. Truly lives up to the Coastal Wonders name.
The tour was well organized, we received excellent information on the places and sights we were visiting. Our tour manager, Kathy Fil, was extremely helpful in offering suggestions for places to eat and visit. She had many maps and pamphlets which helped us plan our free time. The tour guides who narrated the various land tours were well-informed, spoke clearly and many had a humorous personality. The train ride from DeNali to Talkeetna was a favorite experience as well as the riverboat tour on the Chenna River in Fairbanks. We also enjoyed the musical dinner theater in Denali.
Mike Molloy was our tour manager and was informative, pleasant and efficient. He was always available and accommodating. I was disappointed in 2 hotels which did not assign a walk in shower for me. I completed a special assistance form for Collette. I use a walker and it is not possible for me to enter a tub. I personally confirmed the walk in shower need for me with Embassy Suites; however, I did not have one. I did not say anything to Mike because there was a convention of disabled vets whom I thought deserved the shower. A member of our group told Mike. He addressed this with the desk and they in turn, offered me a single room with a walk in shower and a single room for my friend. Loved the cog railway to Pike’s Peak and the National parks.
