Our guide, Sapfo, was truly excellent. Without doubt the best group leader you could wish for. She was interested and engaged with everyone in the group. She was knowledgeable. She was super organized and nothing was a chore. Our group dinners every night were a big success. Her restaurant choices were excellent. Our driver, Georgiou, was also really great. He kept the Mercedes mini bus immaculate. He was a careful and considerate driver and you always felt safe even on the tight back roads of the Mani Peninsula. Itinerary is good except that Monemvasia should be included as part of the tour proper and Sparta dropped from the itinerary. Make sure you take the optional extra of visiting Monemvasia if offered. It is well worth it. Overall I would say the tour is best described as “very full on”. A lot of the ancient and medieval sites have many many steps and some of the stones are very polished from so many people stepping on them over thousands of years. So I would recommend wearing hiking shoes if you have them also also bringing walking poles if you have them. Both will help with climbs, of which there are quite a few as I say. Overall the accommodation was ok (but not brilliant) except for Hotel Galaxy (they need to axe Het Galaxy). The Pantheon City Hotel was the best. Our group got on well, and I think that was in large part due to our guide Sapfo.

The travel was a stellar experience. Exploring the history and culture of Greece along with the warmth and professionalism of Trafalgar’s director, driver and sharing with a diverse group of travelers made it a trip to treasure for a lifetime!

The trip was very enjoyable. I enjoyed all of the optional excursions that I took and the tours included in the trip were very interesting. Olga as always willing to help with suggestions for places to visit and was helpful in making arrangements for us to get there. I would definitely use Collette again

I joined my wife on this tour and wasn't expecting the great experience we had. Greece was a wonderful trip . The people were delightful and tour guide Ogla was great. She made our trip. The historical sites we visited were wonderful along with the guide in each area. The Tour was well planned and we enjoyed our free time to pursue our individual interest, whether it was shopping, a walk on black sand beach or a quite lunch alone. We enjoyed free time and needed a break from planned tours.

A wonderful tour in Greece. Tour guide, Ogla was the Best guide and went the extra mile for our group!! Santorini was my overall favorite experience, however that doesn't take way a thing from Athens and Mykonos. The entire trip was fabulous. The people of Greece were gracious, kind and fun.

My wife and I had a great time on this Best of Greece tour. We visited all the places we had hoped to visit including the Acropolis, Cape Sounion, Corinth, Delphi, Epidaurus, Meteora, Mycenae, Nafplion, Olympia, and Thermopylae, among others. , our tour director, was outstanding- we learned a great deal about Greece during our tour and , our driver, was phenomenal at negotiating the narrow streets we frequently encountered. We covered a lot of territory during our eight day trip and came home with lots of wonderful pictures and memories.

Traveling to Croatia and/Vs Greece: An Overview

Planning a Croatia and Greece tour, but not sure how to get around? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Getting From Croatia to Greece

The best way to get from Croatia to Greece is to take a plane. The most common flight is Dubrovnik to Athens which takes around 1 hour and 25 minutes. The one-way airfare costs around USD 50 without luggage. While there are no direct bus or train services between Croatia and Greece, you can still make the journey via Serbia and Macedonia, albeit the journey is a long one and costly too. You could also take a ferry from Croatia to Greece via Italy. Again, this option is time-consuming and expensive.

Best Time to Visit Croatia to Greece

The best time to visit Croatia and Greece has to be either just before or after the summer season. April-May and September-October are both great times to plan your Croatia and Greece trip, as there are fewer crowds, rates are lower, and the scorching summer temperatures haven’t yet set in.

Highlights of Croatia and Greece Trip

  • Hike the mighty Corfu Trail and the dramatic Dalmatian coastline.
  • Explore wild natural spaces at Plitvice National Park and the stunning Edessa Waterfalls Nature Reserve and encounter wild cats, lynx and brown bears.
  • Dive into history with tours of the Archeological Museum in Athens and the Pula Arena, one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world.
  • Indulge in a magical island food and wine tour by combining a Croatia and Greece tour across Santorini and Hvar. Try dishes such as Kalamarakia tiganita and Dagnje na buzaru, and sample sweet Vinsanto wine.

Croatia and Greece Travel Tips

  • Make sure to carry cash in both Croatia and Greece, as many of the smaller towns, islands, and businesses won’t take cards.
  • Plan any island hopping trip in advance. Not all ferries in Croatia and Greece operate every day and some are booked up in advance, especially during the peak travel season.
  • Both Croatia and Greece are huge, so trying to tick off everything on your bucket list in one trip is going to be exhausting and expensive. So, pick a few key destinations and explore them in depth.
