About One Horizon Africa

One Horizon's sustainable programs are the foundation of its work. It established its tour division so that it could extend its programs further into grassroots Kenyan communities. And recently One Horizon was honored by the Kenyan Tourist Board (KTB) by having its tours included in its Signature Experience Collection for 2020-21. This prestigious award recognizes our work in responsible tourism and in redefining what a holiday is all about.

Safari is the Swahili word for journey and that’s what One Horizon holidays are — incredible journeys. We take you beyond our famous wildlife parks to the heartbeat of Kenya — the communities and villages that are home to our extraordinary people. One Horizon tours are unique opportunities to truly immerse yourself in Kenyan lives and culture. Our tour experiences stir deep emotions as they conjure a different sort of holiday magic as you laugh, dance and share life experiences with the amazing Kenyans you’ll meet. Our tours cater for all and include signature 1 day events to up to 7 days.

Life Changing!

I was moved to tears hearing some of these women stories! They are strong and I am so grateful to have met them. We made bracelets, shared laughter, danced and drank tea. Best time and if I could I would give this 10 stars!!

Amazing day with inspiring Masai ... Spending a day with them dancing, making jewellery and sharing experiences from our different cultures was wonderful. Our guides were excellent; very welcoming and punctual. Their warm personality allowed for great conversation, particularly on the importance of empowering women. I strongly recommend booking this tour.

Life affirming tour

A life affirming tour that definitely should not be missed. My heart is full. Sitting with a Masai woman and learning the art of beadwork with her capable hands (in Maasai enkirina enkaina), while hearing her story and how she overcame it ALL is so amazing. She is my shujaa (Maasai for hero). I am overwhelmed. Her Story Matters. I also picked up amazing pieces at unbelievable prices to add to the Kenya collection. I am recommending this to everyone I possibly can. I left feeling like family.

Well worth the time and money

This was truly a special outing. Such a privilege to meet ... incredibly strong, beautiful women. The afternoon of jewellery making was lovely - a nice way to interact. The area that we visited was so beautiful - very peaceful. Solomon and all of the supporting staff were truly wonderful - they took great care of me. They are tremendously dedicated and passionate individuals. I learned a lot from them during our conversations. All in all, a unique tourist experience that also gives back. Well worth the time and money.
