A great tour with Clara as our guide & Abby driving. The route has been well planned & covered everyting I wanted to see & do as well as a few extras. Clara's knowledge of anything Scotish is amazing. And Abbys driving skills were exemplary. Would love to do another tour with BackRoads.

I had a wonderful "first guided tour" experience. The small group and program's rhythm of guided and independent discoveries worked perfectly for me. Our tour guide was amazing with her knowledge and hospitality and was supported by our very competent bus driver. I have lots of precious memories that I am now sharing with friends and family.
I felt it was a great tour but I do believe that your tour guide and driver are the making or breaking of your tour. Our guide was gracious to everyone. His preparation was great to the degree of having music that related to the places we were seeing & also the age group on the tour. Nothing was a trouble as far as helping passengers with slight disabilities. He never made them feel as if they were a problem. Our driver was a younger man who was also prepared to help anyone at anytime. He was a very good driver who took us to places we may never have seen without his care & consideration but also made it very interesting..

We had a fantastic trip with Peter as our guide and Mike as driver. They were a great combination, lots of knowledge between them and a load of laughs. Both were very accommodating, the trip ran very smoothly and we saw and learnt a lot.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and professional, as well as compassionate. The tour itself with interesting and informative. The hotel, the mini tours, the included excursions and the meals were all top notch. I have nothing but praise for this trip.
An amazing tour of a beautiful part of the world. Rugged scenery combined with amazing towns and cities all interwoven with fascinating and sometimes tragic history. Much like the "Highlights of Britain" tour we completed just before this one, the small group tour was perfect as it took us down narrow country lanes to small villages and remote scenery giving us a very immersive experience. The west coast of Scotland with it's islands of Skye, Mull and Iona was certainly a standout for me. Our tour leader Clara was excellent, engaging with everyone on the tour and keeping us fully informed with detailed history of each area and location we visited. We had two excellent and very professional drivers with most of time spent with Abby so got to know her a bit which was also a plus.
