If you crave a blend of adrenaline and culture, the Bali Multi-Activity Trip with Java is your gateway to Indonesia’s wild side. Over 11 days, young adults and experienced travelers will surf Kuta Beach, meet villagers in remote Bali, ascend the smoking Ijen volcano, and dive into canyoning, rafting, and mountain biking in tropical forests and volcanic landscapes. The adventure wraps up with snorkeling or diving among vibrant coral reefs off Menjangan and Amed. The USP of this trip is its all-in-one approach—delivering a diverse mix of outdoor thrills and authentic cultural encounters across two of Indonesia’s most captivating islands.

day 1 - Arrival and transfer to Legian

Arrive at the airport in Bali. Meet and greet with our staff, then transfer to Legian where you will spend the night in a hotel.

day 2 - Surfing lesson on Kuta Beach

Depending on tide charts, you will go to Kuta beach early in the morning or at noon to enjoy a private surfing lesson by locals on the most famous beach in Bali.

After surfing, we will take you to the center of Bali, close to Mount Batukaru, to meet a local family in a remote village surrounded by amazing paddy fields. You will learn how to waive offerings and cook local dinner.

Night in a hotel nearby.

day 3 - Batukaru - Belimbing – Ketapang

In the morning, visit Batukaru temple for a short visit before heading to the Belimbing area. With a local guide, head out on a 3-hour hike through rice fields, waterfalls and plantations.

Then we will go to the north coast of Bali and follow the road west to Gilimanuk harbour. Crossing by ferry to Java Island, check in to your hotel in Ketapang.

day 4 - HIking on Mount Ijen

At around 4am, you will drive 1.5 hours to the starting point of Kawa Ijen trekking trail, where you will start walking by sunrise. After 2 hours of trekking on an easy trail, you will reach the rim of Kawa Ijen volcano and its splendid acid lake. You may meet local workers on the way, carrying down baskets full of sulphur rocks (up to 100kg per porter!)

After you enjoy the panorama, you will go down to the parking and drive back to the hotel where you can rest.

After lunch, cross back to Bali and arrive by the middle of the afternoon in Pemuteran, close by the sea. Night in hotel in Pemuteran.

Total hiking time: 3-4 hours (+/- 1,300 feet)

day 5 - Snorkelling on Menjangan Island

Depart in the morning to Labuan Lalang harbour. On fishermen boats you will sail to Menjangan Island, which is located in West National Park. It offers some of the best snorkelling in Bali and you will enjoy 2 or 3 different spots. Depending on the tide level, you may also take a short walk on the island to look for temples or the deer that live there.

In the middle of the afternoon you will get back to your hotel and enjoy some free time by the beach.

day 6 - Canyoning and Bratan Lake

After breakfast, we will leave to head north and to the Munduk area. Here, you will experience a half day of canyoning in a pristine and tropical environment. Canyoning is quite easy and fun and features slides, abseils, jumps, swimming and deep gorges.

After lunch, you will head to Bratan Lake and its famous Ulun Danu temple. You will finally reach Ubud late afternoon, where you will stay for 2 nights.

day 7 - Mountain biking from Batur to Ubud

After breakfast, you will be transferred by minibus to Batur Volcano area. You will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the volcano and its lake. Then, once you’re geared up, you will ride off-road for 35 km on an amazing mix of terrain all the way down to Ubud. You will cross bamboo forest and paddy fields on single tracks, small paved lanes and back roads through the local villages.

You will reach Ubud in the mid-afternoon and can enjoy some free time to discover the cultural capital of Bali.

day 8 - Tampaksiring and rafting

In the morning, drive northeast to discover the Tampaksiring area. First, visit Tirta Empul temple with its sacred pools, which are often used by the local people for purification rituals. Afterwards, walk up the 300 steps of Gunung Kawi Mausoleum, an ancient tomb of the last king of Udayana dynasty.

Then you will head to Telaga Waja River for the best rafting experience in Bali. After a 2.5-hour session of excitement, you will get back in the bus and drive to Sidemen, a local village located in a green valley with paddy fields all around.

day 9 - Hike Mount Batur at sunrise

Today will be a very early start. At 4:00 am you'll be transferred to the starting point of your hike up Mount Batur. The hike can be tough and steep, but you'll be rewarded at daybreak when you reach the crater rim, towering at 5,633 feet above sea level. This point offers a 180-degree panorama of Bali as well as Mount Rinjani in Lombok when the weather is clear. After reaching the top, you'll walk around the crater before returning down from another path.

Afterwards you'll leave for Amed, a fishing village located on the eastern tip of Bali and world-renowned for its underwater biodiversity.

Tonight, you'll sleep in traditional bungalows by the beach.

Total hiking time: 4-5 hours (+/- 2,300 feet)

day 10 - Snorkelling or diving at Tulamben

You will go to Tulamben in the morning to snorkel and discover the wreck of the USS Liberty, the most famous diving spot in Bali. You may see groupers, parrotfishes and even sharks if you are lucky enough. A diving option is possible with fee, please consult us.

After lunch, drive back to Sanur with a stop at the Tirtagangga water palace for a short visit.

Free time in Sanur by the end of the day for shopping or to enjoy a good massage.
