Kumod Dewan's unique travel experience
In 2023, I did the Annapurna Circuit Trek with a dear friend of mine. While the trek in its entirety was wonderful, the moment that stayed with me the most was coming across a pair of swans swimming on the calm waters of Ice Lake (Kicho Tal) that sits at an impressive altitude of 4600 meters.
The sight was almost too perfect for the rugged wilderness around it. The glassy waters mirrored the azure sky and the surrounding peaks. It was a perfect combination of the earth and heaven in the moment that transcended time. The sight of those swans felt symbolic of partnership, of resilience, and of the serene beauty that can thrive even in the harshest environments.
