Tanzania Active and outdoor Tour Reviews
Honest insights from past guests on our Active and outdoor Tanzania tours
My second amazing G Adventures tour. I thought it would be hard to top the staff in Nepal, but Adolf and the G team in Tanzania were just as amazing. You can definitely tell the porters and staff are happier at G than some of the other groups. Overall well done, well executed, and friendly/caring staff. The food was also amazing, considering it was prepared fresh on the mountain!
I and a few of my university friends took part in this 7-day tour, and the experience was mind-blowing! Going out on a game drive in the morning, I heard the roar of the lions in the savannah as the sun rose, saw the hunting of cheetahs in the afternoon, and sat by the campfire at night and talked under the sky full of them. The travel team arranged everything so nicely for us that we never felt bored or tired. Especially in the Serengeti, seeing the wildebeest migration in front of the eyes - that roar, that tremor, that race - still rings in the ears. The guide was lively and knew where to go to get the best view. It wasn't just the safari; it was pure adventure, pure fun for us. If you're young and hungry for adventure, this is the place for you.
Climbing Kilimanjaro has been a personal goal of mine since I was a kid, yet I had no idea what it required or would be like. In our short 8-days together, the seven guests and 28-people on the support team became a true family that provided the care, support, and safety for a successful summit of Kilimanjaro. Of particular note are the additional four people who joined Adolph, Moses, and George to ensure each of us made it to the top and back. My heart will always remember their efforts to motivate us, step after step, to carry our knapsacks the final distance, and to provide an arm of support as we descended the mountain. THANK YOU!
This holiday delivered on every front. We saw so much wildlife and enjoyed the variety of parks and environments. We were very lucky in having a small group and this added to the enjoyment. The Tortilis camps are fabulous and on 2 occasions catered for only 4 guests eight 18 staff. The tents are wonderful and met all our needs. However our fellow guests did experience issues with hot water for their shower on several occasions but staff did endeavour to resolve the issue each time. Hamse, our guide, was great and also helped us arrange an air balloon trip over the Serengeti which enhanced the overall trip.
The four day private wilderness adventure was fantastic. We saw lions, elephants and giraffes in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Accommodation was top notch. A special thanks to Cecy for organizing this unforgettable trip!
The experience was fantastic; once in a lifetime. I was constantly impressed by the Kilimanjaro staff who acted with genuine concern and commitment to make sure each and every one of the hikers had their best chance of successfully reaching the summit. I was impressed daily by the skill, care and attention to detail by Iddy, his assistant guides, the g-warriors and g-fighters. They are an amazing team of people who work sooooooo hard to help others achieve their goals and dreams. I am grateful to have shared my journey to Kilimanjaro with this amazing team of people who knew exactly when and how to motivate us to keep going, either with joyful singing, a hot drink,, a well timed break and encouraging words. One team! One dream!
