The accommodation was mixed in terms of comfort, breakfast and location. The itinerary was varied and interesting, comprising a blend of culture, nature and history, with beautiful scenery along the route.. Pity the transport was a bit cramped. The tour leader, Danijela, was exceptional, always smiling, knowledgeable and ready to help with anything. I would recommend this trip even if it only covers snippets of each country.
Loved the 4 countries we visited. Accommodation seemed below explore standards. In several places wifi did not work in room, although it did work in some place outside of room. Hotel Mecavnik was very cold in the room with no heating available. I did not do the optional boat trip on Skadar lake, there was nothing else to do apart from sit at a restaurant for the 2.5 hours while waiting for others to finish the boat trip, it would have been better if there was a good walking area while waiting. Apart from these details, the rest of tge trip was excellent. Daniela our tour leader made everything run smoothly and she really excelled at sharing her knowledge of the area.
A trip which included historical sites, beautiful landscapes and wildlife opportunities. There were many highlights, and a couple of downsides. Because we visited Sarajevo on Sunday afternoon and Monday many of the museums and sights were closed, so a fascinating city was partly unexplored. While we were aware that lifts would not be available, we didn’t know just how many places had many many steps, in particular the Küstendorff resort. But a very enjoyable trip. Already considering the next one
A very varied trip, including time in historic towns like Kotor and Sarajevo, time in the countryside, walks, boat trips and even a narrow gauge railway trip. The roads are good so although it looks like a lot of travel, it was easy going. Two things to note: take seriously the warning about no lifts in hotels. This proved to be true and many of them have lots of steps up and down! Also, it can be very cold up in the mountains in late Sept/Oct while still hot and sunny on the coast so bring clothes for all seasons.
Beautiful route for exploring the landscapes and cultures of Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro! You do need to be fit for these hikes, and even people without knee issues would benefit from the use of poles on some of the steep descents. Excellent transfers from trail to lodging, great guides, wonderful group members and a unique, magical hiking experience!
An amazing journey around just two of the Balkans with a chance to discover their amazing cultural and political history. Needless to say, the landscapes are incredible and vary massively as you cross the country. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to learnt as much as they can about this spectacular region in a relatively short amount of time.
