Reviews of our Mongolia Tours for July
Feedback from guests who toured Mongolia during July.
Great tour with fantastic leader and drivers. Loved the first week which was just our group in remote Mongolia. Loved the off-road experience. Second week became a bit more commercialised and wasn’t as enjoyable as first week due to overcrowding of accommodation sites, causing long queues for showers, toilets and buffet food. Overall enjoyed the tour of beautiful Mongolia.
My first trip with Explore, will not be my last. An amazing adventure with a great group of travellers, the whole experience enhanced by our guide Ben and the driving team.
This was a wonderful trip. The itinery is fast paced with lots of travelling in a 4x4 but the scenery is spectacular. The staying in Gers is very good and the trip involves a bit of everything - landscape, history, culture.
A fantastic trip and a rare opportunity to explore such a remote part of the world. Based in the Altai Mountains on the border of China and Russia! We were very warmly welcomed by the Mongolian people and enjoyed the scenic walks and camping spots.
Great trip but with long bumpy off road drives. Accommodation in Gers the first week was very basic, Gers having big gaps for cold air and small animals to enter. Some of the shared showers only had cold water. I slept in my coat a couple of nights in the mountains as only 5 degrees and too cold to face a tepid shower. Food however was a surprise being a non red meat eater, the alternative was chicken with lots of fresh salads, vegetables and some fruits. Our guide Sara was nice but lacked the skills for a large group. I had no complaints but some of the group had issues which were resolved and avoided at the next stop. Some mis information was given, so we were a little confused. We managed to arrange with Sara and Explore a trip to the Genghis Khan statue and museum at an extra cost the last day which was worth the detour. Camel riding in the Gobi was fun and for half hour we paid around £5.
This has been my 8th tour with G Adventures and probably my favorite. Mongolia as it is is such a fascinating place to go to. That trip though is just perfectly modeled to help you experience most of the country for example by staying in ger camps or at a nomad family. I cannot recommend this tour enough!
