Introduction to the island, its people and the wildlife.

We saw a lot of wildlife due to the skill of our guides. By the end of the holiday we were able to spot the birds and animals ourselves. Kept busy with many activities and group meals. We felt privileged to see such rare animals in their own habitat in disappearing rainforest.

Borneo Wildlife Discoverer

This is a great overview of Malaysian Borneo with stays at many varied national parks. Its great to see the wildlife, birds, plants, insects and forests and also stays in the towns. The food was generally very good. It was interesting to hear some of the history and to learn about the tribes of Borneo. I am really pleased that I chose this trip.

Borneo Wildlife

This was an absolutely fabulous holiday. It had been very well thought out to give us as much exposure as possible to as many aspects as possible of the wildlife of Borneo. The accommodation was good and we saw an amazing variety of animals, birds, plants and insects. The local guides were excellent at spotting things of interest and Sheila, our leader, was one of the best I have ever had, all done with a lovely sense of humour. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Group dinners, except for the farewell dinner, were not that good. They seemed to be consistent with standard American-style Chinese food. The farewell dinner, which was Nyonya style cuisine, was much better and more fitting for the trip's destination.

It gave a good selection of experiences in Malaysia but a few too many temples. Choose a tour outside Ramadan. Malaysia has great food but the meals on this tour were very safe, until the very last meal in Penang, which was excellent.

Interesting trip

A well balanced trip combining time in northern Borneo with time on the Malaysian peninsula to experience Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Langkawi. The accommodation was very good in most places but, whilst the hotel in Langkawi was adequate, it was in need of refurbishment and, coming as it did after an excellent hotel in Penang it was a bit of a let down. In Borneo our guide Felix was good but unfortunately spoke too quietly at times. On the Malaysian peninsula our guide was Andy who is an excellent guide with a wealth of knowledge that he is eager to share. He went out of his way to try to meet the various expectations of the group.
