Discover the Baltic States with six easy walks in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Explore the pristine national parks of the Baltics
Discover the cultural heritage of the region
Embark on a walking holiday through the Baltic states, exploring Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in a relaxed, eight-day journey designed for seasoned travelers who love culture and nature. Stroll through the capitals—Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius—each brimming with history and charm. Traverse the unique landscapes of Lahemaa National Park, tackle the windswept dunes of the UNESCO-listed Curonian Spit, and delve into ancient forest fortresses.
Seasonal highlights include bog walking in Lahemaa for a truly local experience. The relaxed activity level allows plenty of time to soak in the scenery, savor Baltic cuisine, and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of these northern gems.
The USP? This trip is the perfect blend of urban exploration and wild landscapes, offering a rare opportunity to discover the best of the Baltics’ walking trails and vibrant capitals in one seamless package.
The accommodations were unnecessarily too luxury -- all hotels (but one) were four stars, some being part of international chains, therefore, no benefit for and no contact with local people (but a higher price of the trip). The contacts with Explore before the trip was the least pleasant part (several mails partly unanswered, weeks to have a supplementary night booked at the same hotel, payment by phone…).
Great trip. Good mix of varied scenic walking and sightseeing in 3 very interesting countries. Excellent guide who shared her experiences of growing up and local life as well as the history and some folklore of the region. Quite fast paced and covered a lot of ground but didn't feel too rushed. We extended our trip at both ends to enjoy Talinn and Vilnius and would recommend doing this if you have the time.
All round an excellent trip, nice balance of walking and sightseeing. The leader was great, very knowledgeable and very organised! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Very nice sample of the three countries. I particularly enjoyed the medieval towns. We had a nice mix of forests, beaches, castles, old towns, and bog walking. For me, one bog walk was enough. I appreciated the knowledgeable and witty tour group guide.
