Picture yourself trekking through Mongolia’s remote west, where glaciers, vast steppe, and nomadic cultures converge. The Mongolian Panorama tour invites seasoned adventurers and mature travelers to experience an 18-day hiking journey unlike any other. Begin in Ulaanbaatar before flying to the wilds of western Mongolia, where you’ll trek to the Turgen Mountains’ icy glaciers and traverse the dramatic Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. Highlights include visits with local herders, learning Kazakh hunting traditions, and witnessing Tuvan throat-singing. For the July departure, enjoy the spectacle of the Naadam festival, with its lively horse racing and archery. The standout aspect of this tour package is the chance to immerse yourself in both Mongolia’s raw nature and its living cultural heritage—creating an unforgettable adventure for those eager to go beyond the ordinary.

day 1Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

After arriving at Ulaanbaatar Airport, we will transfer to our hotel. In the afternoon, we will explore the capital city, starting with Sukhbaatar Square, named after the revolutionary hero, Damdiny Sukhbaatar, who declared independence from China in 1921. Another important landmark on our orientation tour is the State Department Store, also known as the "Great Shop" in Mongolian. Please time your arrival to be in the city by lunchtime as typically we will meet at 2pm for the tour. We will return to the hotel in the late afternoon for some relaxation before a welcoming concert of traditional Mongolian music, followed by dinner and a briefing from your guide.

The process from finding the tour we wanted to take to getting set up for the tour was an easy process. The other reviews we saw gave us the security of using their website to book our trip. The only item we missed which would have given a 5* was the trip did not include see the Alps up close or a train trip. Well maybe next time there may be one and we would definitely take that trip.
