Itinerary

Cycle from Lithuania through national parks and via interesting towns to Warsaw in Poland. Discover the cultural borderlands of Lithuania and Poland, where the landscapes shift gently from low-lying sandy plains and tranquil lakes to vast forests and rolling green hills. This diverse journey begins in Vilnius, Lithuania's charming capital, and finishes in the Polish Baltic city of Gdansk – both UNESCO-listed for their historic old towns. You’ll explore the spa town of Druskininkai and the pristine woodlands of Dzukija National Park. Cross into Poland to uncover the quiet beauty of Suwalki Lakeland, the monastic serenity of Wigry Monastery, and the iconic Masurian Lake District. The final days offer a blend of nature and history along the picturesque shores of the Vistula Lagoon and the medieval charm of Frombork. Travelling through small towns, countryside and peaceful villages, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of two distinct cultures shaped by a shared past – the once-powerful Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth of the 16th to 18th centuries. This itinerary offers a rewarding insight into a lesser-known corner of Europe, with just the right mix of nature, heritage and local life.

day 1Arrive Vilnius

On arrival in Vilnius, make your way to the joining hotel (or we can assist with an arrival transfer on request, please ask for our rates), where you'll stay for 2 nights. Vilnius has been Lithuania's capital for more than 600 years. There will be a city tour tomorrow morning however depending on when you arrive, we recommend taking a walk through the old town. In the evening at 7.30 pm there will be a welcome meeting with your guide.

day 3Cycle alongside the Nemunas River to Druskininkai (42km/26mi)

day 4Transfer then cycle in Dzukija National Park (42km/26mi)

day 5Cross the border into Poland, cycle via Suwalki to Wigry National Park (47km/29mi)

day 6Loop cycle at Wigry National park, transfer to Guzycko (47km/29mi)

day 7Cycle the Mazurian bike loop, transfer to Braniweo (36km/23mi)

day 8Cycle along the Vistula Lagoon to Elblag via Frombork. Transfer to Gdansk (52km/33mi)
