Uncover Europe’s unexpected side, blending rich history with contemporary culture

Itinerary

Learn about Latvia and Lithuania's rich history as you explore the changing landscapes of the Baltic coastline. Embark on a scenic cycling holiday through the Baltic countries of Lithuania and Latvia, where flat landscapes and coastal trails invite you to slow down and explore at your own pace. Beginning in the charming port town of Klaipeda, this self-guided cycling tour follows low-traffic roads and designated bike paths along the Baltic Sea coastline, through pine forests, rolling countryside and quiet villages. Along the way, you’ll uncover hidden beaches, sandstone caves, manor houses and UNESCO-listed Old Towns, all while experiencing the cultural contrasts that make this region so unique. The tour finishes in Riga, Latvia’s vibrant capital, where cobblestone lanes and art nouveau architecture meet a modern café culture.

day 1Arrive Klaipeda

Arrive in Klaipeda, Lithuania's third largest city and main port, situated on the Dane River. After checking into your hotel, explore this former Prussian capital's mix of new and old including the cobbled Old Town with it's distinct German flavour. If you arrive earlier, you can visit the Curonian Spit.

Was a great trip Day 3 of actual bike ride, day 4 of trip perhaps not as enjoyable as 5km of loose gravel road and then quite a bit on a reasonably busy road which we weren't use to, but the destination, was worth it.

Fantastic...beginning to end. Comms from UTracks very good, bikes excellent, accommodation and food likewise. Maybe a little too much main road riding?

We're an active family of four adults, irregular cyclists but reasonable fitness levels and we had the best time! The bikes were perfect for the roads and tracks, the accommodation was spot-on with just the right amount of comfort, and each morning our bags with magically disappear at the start of our days travelling and reappear at the end. The quality of the instructions were also spot-on, very clear and it allowed us to travel in a relaxed way through the amazing countryside
