Explore Yellowstone, the Rocky Mountains and hike the Grand Canyon. On this superb hiking adventure we bring to life western USA's most famous parks, home to some of the most dramatic wind and water sculptured landscapes in the world. During a series of selected hikes, we absorb the geysers, giant waterfalls, prolific wildlife and valleys full of boiling mud pots in Yellowstone, trek in the Grand Canyon, visit Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon and hike in the dramatic Rocky Mountains. From Aspen and Glenwood Springs we undertake some world class day hikes in the Rockies and enjoy picture postcard vistas, such as Maroon Bells. Linking the parks and hikes are stunning drives such as the 'Million Dollar Highway', considered to be the most scenic in North America. A visit to Mesa Verde UNESCO World Heritage Site and Monument Valley and our final night in Las Vegas rounds off this exhilarating adventure.
Overall, the trip was fine. The parks are certainly beautiful. However, there are long distances to travel between parks. Unfortunately, the company in the US assigned a vehicle that may be fine for in-city travel but not for traveling long distances. Thirteen of us were cramped into a vehicle that should not be carrying more than 10 with little space to place our backpacks. Also, the tour description on World Expeditions website does not take into account the travelling time and some of the activities mentioned proved to be unfeasible due to shortage of time. We had 10 Germans and 3 English speakers in our group, which made the group dynamics a bit awkward but Albi, the guide, did a good job of managing the situation. Albi was knowledgeable and did a good job of managing the logistics. But traveling comfort can certainly be improved.
Fantastic itinerary - the same lunch most days got boring.
