We loved our trip but did find the trekking harder than expected due to the technical terrain and altitude.

The Upper Mustang trek was a truly wonderful journey, especially in combination with the Tiji Festival. The mix of hiking, jeep transfers, and overnight stays in tents made it feel like a genuine expedition. The support from the entire staff was outstanding. Our tents were set up for us each day and taken down again as soon as our group departed for the next stage of the trek. Every morning, we were welcomed with a cup of warm water or tea, and upon arriving at camp each afternoon, we were provided with a bowl of hot washing water, a much-appreciated comfort after a long day on the trail. Upper Mustang is an extremely dusty region, and you certainly notice that during the trek. Fortunately, we were able to avoid most of the roads by taking hiking trails, and many of the trekking days were demanding and sometimes strenuous. Daily altitude changes were significant, often climbing from around 3,000-3,200 metres to over 4,000 metres, then descending again before making another ascent the following day. This made the trek a rewarding challenge every day. Despite the physical demands, our entire group enjoyed every moment of the experience. I would like to thank all the staff and guides once again for their excellent support, professionalism, and outstanding service throughout the trip.

I did this tour and really enjoyed it. The itinerary was packed but fun. Beaches, islands, waterfalls, a bit of culture, and some beautiful nature spots. Saona Island and Los Haitises were my favorite parts. The guides were friendly, the transport was comfortable, and everything was well organized, so I didn’t have to worry about planning anything. It’s a great option if you want to see a lot of the Dominican Republic in a short time. Overall, super solid tour and definitely worth it!

I just returned from my recent trip to the Dominican Republic (November 2025). It was a last minute trip and I went Solo. As a woman, who traveled alone, it was vital to find an organized way to enjoy the Dominican Republic for safety and best use of my time. I found Charlie the Traveler, who's organization had a 6 day itinerary available for me. The price was very worth it. They arranged all the airport pick up and drop off, hotel arrangements and all the day trips. The excursions were very diverse and gave me the opportunity to see many of the important landmarks in just 6 days. I wish I had stayed longer but I had to go back to work. I got to see the beaches, mountains, caves and historical locations. We went to Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Saona, and many other places. I highly recommend using them whether it's a solo or group trip. We communicated via Whatsapp everyday and they always checked in on me and were available if any issues arose. I would definitely use their services again with my friends or family or solo again!

What a great way to spend our first afternoon/evening in Rome! After the long flight it was a comfortable way to get an overview of a lot of the historical sites. Our driver was very knowledgeable and engaging.

Luxury Gold had their own bus which was an advantage as we were a small group and could spread out. A great driver and a knowledgeable friendly tour guide/concierge. We visited a lot of important tourist sites in Portugal and Coimbra with the outstanding university library was a highlight. Algarve was good to see the ocean. The hotels were mostly very good 2 not so but comfortable enough for the short stay. The dinners included in the tour were very good. A well put together itinerary.

Hi Stefania! Sorry to take so long to write back. It has been crazy trying to get back into the swing of things at work after that trip. Italy was amazing!! We absolutely loved it! As for feedback on the trip, we really don't have anything that was negative. We loved everything that was planned! We especially loved how you planned the sites that we went and how the pattern flowed (not sure if you did it on purpose but we think so). Also, thank you for being very accessible to us during the whole planning of the trip. You helped put us at ease and it was very reassuring that we chose the right company. Stefania - George and I returned last night from our trip of a lifetime! I keep telling people that it felt like a dream. So with laundry and luggage on the floor, I wanted to stop and send you this message! That tells you just how much we enjoyed our trip. Every detail, every transfer, restaurant recommendation, etc. was spot on. We could not have asked for better insight or a better planned trip. The tours.... oh the tours... were fantastic. We learned so much and while we expected the guides to be nice, we were not prepared for just how thorough and nice they would be. Not to mention funny! We enjoyed them as much as we did the sights that they led us through. The hotels were amazing as well. The rooms were great, but their locations were exactly where we needed to be to have the trip we sought after. But I must say that when we stepped onto the property at Hotel Caruso, I felt like we had stepped into a postcard. The flowers and the views were breathtaking. We spent a lot of time just trying to take it all in. There are no words that I can type, and even with a minor dissertation I couldn't cover it all. I have uploaded over 700 pictures and came home 8 pounds heavier! And this morning I went to the Italian grocer/importer to get my fresh mozzarella. I can't even eat food the way I used to. You planned a trip and anniversary celebration that can never be topped. We thank you!!

This tour was a great hybrid between going it completely on our own and a completely regimented tour group experience. Alessandra and the team made all of the hotel, transportation, and tour reservations and we just had to be at the right place at the right time. The events they suggested were great and hit all of the highlights we were interested in and more. There was plenty to do, but also some free time to explore on our own and relax.

Alessandra and her team did a great job in understanding my requirements and asks for a laid back, easy going trip for 5 days around Tuscany and Roma with my group being ages 6-60. The hotel choices were nice and central, we had great communication before, during, and after the trip with her and team as well. We did have one snafu on one of the tours on the trip and I was just going to let it go (things happen, that’s life) but the team reached out and handled it very gracefully! They understood the assignment and I am so happy to have been able to work with them!
